Re: Toughest stainless steel ?

Aeb-L definitely should be one of the top “tough” stainless steels

Zdp-189 definitely. Still at the top of the pack as far as holding the razor edge for a long time.

Re: No para 3 lw love buying from spyderco

Guess I just missed it. It’s already cheap enough, not really a big deal to buy it at retail price. Thanks for the info

No para 3 lw love buying from spyderco

Been waiting for the para 3 lightweight to come up on the new product lists so I could buy it directly for spyderco and seems like it ain’t gonna happen. Usually save a couple $ from buying direct because of 50% discount because veteran status. Anyone know if the para 3 lw will be released or should...

Re: REX 45 Military In Stock!

I was hoping this would go for sale on the Spyderco website but I guess it’s not happening.. I’ve asked a few times and they keep telling me they will. Fingers crossed because I’ve been holding off myself. Don't worry friends. I spoke with Jon at the sfo yesterday. He has them and says he should ha...

Re: Three methods for closing Spyderco lockbacks one handed

Weird. Those are all inferior to the correct method: press spine against leg to close. It’s going back in your pocket. It just came out of your pocket. Nearly everyone has legs. Works on every lock type too. This this way I’ve always done it. I never thought about different ways to close it. Always...

Re: Stropping works for which (Spyderco) steels?

I have had great results stropping zdp-189 on a denim on hardwood strop loaded with Mother’s Mag polishing paste. I got the idea from the Rockstead website and it works great for Zdp. http://rockstead.jp/maintenance/ I find S30V is less responsive to stropping than Zdp. 01 seems to be the most respo...

Re: Your favorite/“the best” Paramilitary

S30V digi camo with black DLC. I lusted after this knife for 2 years before getting it. Its in my pocket 50% of the time (the other 50%) is a ZDP dragonfly. I will most likely pic up a Rex 45 PM2 but it wont replace my current EDC knife. Awesome looking and the digi camo looks similar to my old unif...

Re: Spyderco Reinhold Rhino Giveaway!!!

I’m in! For memorial day, I'd like to remember my Grandmother's boyfriend, John Whitlock. He was a great person and he was like a Grandfather to me. He was a positive influence in my life and taught me many things. He was a Marine and served in Vietnam, and he was an influence to me joining the Mari...

fixing sharpening mistakes from my youth

I recently found my clipit serrated knife in the pictures after having thought i lost it like over ten years ago. I started carrying it and really like how smooth and awesome the knife is for cutting rope especially. The knife is in great condition except for some scratches in the primary hollow gri...
