Re: CPM SPY 27 Long Term Use

i think the lack of info is probably most related to the cost vs supposed properties keeping people away combined with the fact that they are production knives being released during a swirling storm of exclusives and sprints over the same time period. people can only afford so much, and even if they...

Re: Kopa satus (the new Caly 2.5?)

it looks like the caly family has a more negative blade angle than the kopa, but it doesn't look super obvious. i wouldn't argue with sal that they're similar.

Just can’t kick ‘em out…until I get a Pac 2🤣
that salt 2 wharncliffe is super tempting, but i really want to see a pac salt 2 wharncliffe more. if there was a pac salt wharncliffe and a stretch 2 xl salt, i'd have a really hard time choosing one though.

Re: SMKW and Spyderco Shot Show

it's definitely going to give more ammo to the critics that constantly complain about spyderco just releasing more variations of the same knife instead of coming up with new designs. i don't usually agree with those complaints, but this one looks like it would've been better as it's own design inste...

Re: Can I has: MAGNACUT PARA 3 LW.

i don't know. i remember thinking once the p3lw was released that a salt was a natural progression and would soon follow. it didn't happen. Well the question I still have is, will they go all in with everything they make in MagnaCut and make them true Salt models, or will there be knives with the b...

I wonder if the Enuff will move to 3mm if the Enuff 2 sells well? I had an Enuff Leaf and it was overbuilt (for my use) but that was the market then.
a 3mm enuff clip point or drop point in lc200n or magnacut would be an instant buy for me.

Re: So what is the reason for no Combo edges in the salt lineup?

When I first started using serrations more I would carry two knives, because this nagging "what if" that I couldn't get past. Then the PE knife got reduced to a Ladybug on my keys. Today that Ladybug is SE too. I do have a PE blade on my multitool but it only ever gets used if someone ask...

Re: So what is the reason for no Combo edges in the salt lineup?

In a sense you’re right, LB. For things like finishing cuts on a cutting board, the PE portion of the “full” SE makes a world of difference, but for a true CE that I’ll predominantly use as a PE, I’d want the PE position to be longer. Keep in mind this is all very hypothetical. I’m making up reason...

Re: enuff 2!!!

i'm still curious how this lc200n knife turned into vg10 and then k390. Offering designs in different steels is kinda Spydercos thing, right? There's also quite a few people wanting to see something different than VG10 and black. I think it's an awesome design that deserved some variants. yeah. tha...

Re: Am I the only one…

the magnacut mule is thinner than this, but fills this role for me. i'm not sure i'd want it to be thicker, but i wouldn't be opposed to trying it out for a bigger, harder use camp knife.

Re: When will Manix L’s with screws actually be available?

as far as i know, they're already out. you just need to call the dealer and ask for sure if they have them to make sure you get one with screws though. it will be a while before the pinned versions are all sold out. LB do you know a specific dealer who may have the screw variant? Dan i don't, but i...

Re: So what is the reason for no Combo edges in the salt lineup?

i see most of the se salt knives as combo edges already (minus the atlantic). on/in the water (or in an emergency), i really want all the teeth i can get, but i really appreciate the small plain edge portion at the tips. it's enough to give me a clean cut if i need it, but still gives me a lot of te...

i've been using frog lube paste and i like it. just rub it into the blade really well and put it away. it's food safe and smells nice and minty too.

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

I am so boring. For weeks it has been a Rex45 Manix 2 with Rockscale Ti scales. So great that I might have to move everything else along. Scary thought... there's nothing boring about finding what you love and sticking with it. i sprinkle in my other standard edc rotation, but i've been mostly carr...
