Re: Endela or Manix 2?

the manix 2 lw has my vote. it’s the sturdiest of all lw models i’ve held, it’s very light for a knife it’s size, i love the blade size and shape, the handle is comfortable in multiple grips, the handle tapers toward the pocket opening so you can still access other items in your pocket, the cbbl is ...

Re: Paramilitary 2 Salt ?

a blacked out manix 2 lw salt in lc200n would be the perfect knife. i’ll take at least one each in pe and se.

Re: Salt 2 LW Awesomeness

there is a lot of praise on this forum for h1 in se, and for good reason. i carry my pacific salt se every day and it is a really great knife. as you noted, the salt series are some of the best workhorses in the lineup. something about a maintenance free, tough blade just begs to be used. just wait ...

Re: Mule Team MT28P CPM SPY27 Revealed!

i don’t mean to derail, but what’s so special about pd1, cruwear, 3v, etc? i’ve prioritized corrosion resistance because i live in hawaii, but moving soon has me more open to other steels than i have been in the past few years. on topic, do we know what the characteristics of spy27 are and how it w...

Re: Re-finishing Sharpmaker Rods

I've been experimenting with different abrasives. I ordered some 80-600 grit triangle stones from Congress. It's been fun but nothing puts a better edge on my SE knives than the sharpmaker rods. I do like the 120 grit norton crystalon rod for my SE beaters though, they give an extremely toothy, agg...

Re: tops tools

The TOPS folks are good people. They cater to primarily military and LEO in their product lines....big, tough knives that get used hard and often abused in accomplishing the mission. Like Spyderco, many of their designs are collaborations...some with known makers and some with the military personne...

Re: tops tools

Just seems like she wants to cause strife and division. I mean, I like all knives. If someone is acting inappropriately, then I don't mess with them. She really wants to "classify" people. I think that's terrible to be quite honest. I always try and be open minded, let people write their own ticket...

Re: Pacific Salt praise

i’ve been camping at the beach for the last four days, which means lots of time in wet board shorts. i brought other knives along, but the pac salt always rides in my waistband in or out of the water and i have forced myself to use it even when carrying something else. it’s really solidifying to me ...

Re: How about a mini manix 2?

i’d like to see a manix with the same handle shape and cutting edge length, just minus a choil. i personally love the manix just the way it is, but it would be a compelling model without the choil and extra non-cutting length added to the blade.

tops tools

tops has a few knives that seem to be really great and useful designs, but i’m having trouble getting past the fact that they are mostly owned, and sometimes designed, by complete tools. the whole sharpened pry bar to conquer a city and crush any skulls that stand in the way of your extreme tacticoo...

Re: Spyderco Survival knife?

or you can treat your knife like a knife and just buy a mora for under $20. it's really that simple. huge survival knives are not as useful as they are heavy and dangerous. those knives are better suited for urban survival environments. for example, i have an esee 5 that i absolutely love, but i wou...
