Re: Crazy Good Deals Part 2!!

Just for a little perspective, I believe MAP is for keeping smaller businesses competitive with the big guys. The small companies generally can't afford to take the amount of loss per sale that the bigger companies can to move inventory. Same reason Walmart and Amazon can sell for so cheap ...

...but I sure don’t love seeing Spyderco go the way of Benchmade here. Spyderco, please be less like Benchmade.

i've been noticing the same in the last few years. aside from what i consider better design philosophy and quality of spydercos, there are other reasons i don't like benchmade and won ...

i thought this was a knife forum. why are we talking about fake news and wars with austria?

edit: actual knife content and personal hot takes about austrian mountains retracted.

delica, matriarch, and matriarch 2 also. defensive knives should be in salt steels. i've been asking for years though. i doubt it will happen.

We have been working with our Taichung maker for about 25 years. They do an excellent job, among the best in the world.

Re: Prices OMG Seriously?

if i'm not paying crk prices for crk, i'm certainly not paying crk prices for spyderco, regardless of what kind of magical recipe they use for the steel. i don't want to buy chinese knives from all these cheaper companies, but i'm not going to pay these ridiculous prices either. i guess it's time to ...

Re: Prices OMG Seriously?

prices have been insane for years. you won't find much sympathy from people around here though. lots of people here would give their last dollar to spyderco for a knife they already have in a different steel and tell you they're serving the greater good for doing it.

Re: Reveal 20 - Live!

cool reveal, but nothing i can't live without this time. i'm still waiting for a black manix salt lw and a black stretch 2 xl salt.

the retract will make a great camp/outdoor folder and i'd absolutely snag it if i didn't have other knives with a similar design already. i still may grab one anyway ...

Re: Should the Kiwi 4 get a Sprint?

if you really have an itch for a kiwi 4, take a look at the roadie xl. i know it's getting close to apples and oranges territory, but it's a fantastic little knife that might fill the void until you can get a kiwi.

Re: 2025 Favorite Spyderco Buy ! !

i purchased two this year. they're very different and were purchased for different purposes, so it's difficult to call one my favorite. i suppose, if i had to choose, it would be the military 2 salt. i never thought any knife would make me carry a manix less, but here we are. it's just a really ...

dlc yojumbo and the ol' trusty se pac salt today. a lot of back and forth between a manix, military 2 salt, and my dlc yojumbo for the last year now. any of these paired with a se pac salt and you're ready for pretty much anything.

It is interesting how the laws regarding knives can affect our behavior.

indeed. and it's especially a bummer when the law is nonsense.

i should probably also add that my workplace defaults to florida law when it comes to what we're allowed to carry on premises. standard pocket knives ...
