Re: 12 reasons why the Delica is better than the Native

the ergos on the native are far better for my hand. it's a more neutral design and fills my hand much better. i don't mind having to use the choil on smaller knives like the native and dragonfly. the construction is much more solid than the delica and has the least amount of play of all my lockbacks...

Re: To those of you who beat the snot out of your salt knives: how’s your action?

even when sand works it's way all throughout my pivot, my pac salt just keeps going. i depress the lock bar and move the blade back and forth under water to clear it out and it's like new. i wouldn't say i beat on my knife, but i don't baby it. i honestly don't think i've ever adjusted the pivot scr...

Re: Any interest in a Spyderco utility knife (box cutter)

it would be cool if they came up with a nice, ergonomic design with frn and their texturing. i'm pretty happy with my current utility knife though and it was much cheaper than anything spyderco makes in frn, so it would probably not do it for me unless they could get the cost down or make a complete...

Re: DLT Exclusive Delica OD Green FRN and Coated Cruwear

maybe it's just me, but i like the look of worn dlc and ticn. i hate scratched up satin blades, but i like a beat up coated knife, as long as it isn't a cheap paint coating that chips off instead of wearing.

Re: Clear Manix 2 LW Vanax SuperClean sprint?

i understand the clear and translucent scales on the manix 2 lw were meant to show the inner workings. i've never really cared for the look though. i'd much rather be able to access the inner workings by being able to disassemble the knife.

i emailed them and called in the last week. they are behind in answering emails due to lower staffing because of covid. give them time and they'll respond. a call is usually faster though.

Re: DLT Trading: will we see a OD/TiCN Cruwear Endura?

Its been discussed, the Endura sells significantly slower than the Delica, which in turn sells significantly slower than the Manix 2/Para 2 class of exclusive knives. It makes it hard to give the green light to a batch of the quantity we usually order. Personally I'd love to see it, I really like t...

Re: Salt knives pivot lube ?

i've dropped some reel oil in my pac salt once or twice, but i don't think it's necessary at all. the blade is riding on the pivot and between plastic scales, so there's not really a need to oil it. i've had my pivot full of both fine and gritty sand and the knife still works just fine. there's some...

Re: Yojimbo vs PM2 durability

Thanks for the replies, sorry I was gone a bit. I grew up in Smyrna Ga. where Going Gear is but moved to Canton Ga. a few years ago when they built the new braves stadium....too much traffic! The yojimbo 2 seemed to fit my hand better and I had almost decided on it until someone recommended the Can...

i have too many knives. i have too many knives. i have too many knives. 😖 It's only $49. And it matches your user name. It's not even an option for you to not buy it. :) if it was coated and/or zome like the big brothers, i wouldn't be able to resist. as it is, i'll fight the urge to pick this one ...

Re: The Age Old Question .... E4 or D4

the handle of the delica isn't as comfortable to me and i'd prefer a longer reach with an upgraded steel, so i'd definitely go for the endura. the only reason i would ever consider the delica is for legal purposes, and even then, i'd probably go for a different model like the chaparral lw.

Re: How about a folding Whale Rescue? Aka a safety tipped Spyderhawk? Rescuehawk?

i always carry my pac salt in the ocean because it was the best compromise available with a slight sheepsfoot and still having a tip that can pierce. it was a compromise i had to decide to make. for any type of emergency though, the rounded non-tip on the assist or whale rescue is a far better choic...

Re: How about a folding Whale Rescue? Aka a safety tipped Spyderhawk? Rescuehawk?

i know it's not a hawkbill, but what about the assist salt? the "tip" of that knife is wider than a nickel and would work really well for this application. i'd consider it a much better rescue knife than anything else spyderco makes just because there is no tip at all.
