Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
dlc yojumbo and the ol' trusty se pac salt today. a lot of back and forth between a manix, military 2 salt, and my dlc yojumbo for the last year now. any of these paired with a se pac salt and you're ready for pretty much anything.

purple/burgundy or teal for mrs. ladybug.
personally, i think a deep burgundy for dudes and a teal for ladies would be a nice pairing.

It is interesting how the laws regarding knives can affect our behavior.

i should probably also add that my workplace defaults to florida law when it comes to what we're allowed to carry on premises. standard pocket knives ...

Re: Swick owners?
i've wanted one of these for a while, but all fixed blades, regardless of size, are considered weapons in florida. it's a dumb law, but it's law. of course, that doesn't mean i'm not allowed to carry it, but i don't want to carry a "weapon" when i can just carry a standard pocket knife that doesn't ...

stretch 2 xl salt... rescue?
has there been any discussion ever about giving the stretch 2 xl a "hunter" blade akin to its origins? i think a blade with this style might be an excellent hunting knife, but also work well as a rescue knife and work well for people in marine applications.

Re: Blade to Handle Efficiency?
i like to carry the largest blade i'm legally allowed to carry. as far as the handle is concerned, i only care that it's comfortable, not too big in the pocket (not sure spyderco even makes something that is too big for my pockets), and that it safely covers the blade when closed.

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

thanks, spyderco. really loving the sage and the button lock has great action. it's much smaller than the military 2 salt i've been carrying, but it's nicer in the pocket of my lw shorts.

JoviAl,
Whew, so glad to hear he is okay. Hoping for a quick and less painful heal up.
Cheers buddy 👍🏻 it’ll be a few months for the ligaments and tendons to bond back together before he can re-learn to walk, but it’s the best outcome we could have hoped for.
man, that's really tough. i'm ...

Re: Hey Al - " Mule Team" - Wendy
i'm in the mountains this week. when it came time to choose a belt knife to bring, i had my magnacut mule in hand, but put it down in favor of my esee jg5. the mules are great edc fixed blades an can hold their own in the wilds, but in bear country i'm always going to choose a bigger knife than the ...

Re: What is a "front flipper?"
I've never heard anyone refer to the flipper on a Smock a front flipper, including Ken (nor is it called that in Spyderco's own copy on the page for that knife). In fact I've never seen anyone attempt to define a flipper that was behind the pivot as a front flipper until this thread.
that's ...

Re: What is a "front flipper?"
no one called flippers front flippers until they were flipped from the front of the knife. the mantra, based both on the pictures and spyderco's own description, is not a front flipper. weird mistake to make, but it doesn't really matter. it's not that deep.

Re: Reveal 19 - Live!
Is it a typo that the reveal says that the Mantra 4 is a font flipper?
I sure think it is. I see a small flipper tab on the back, and no front flipper at all.

Building on the legacy of our Mantra™ series, the fourth-generation Mantra™ 4 is a sleek, stylish ...

oh wow i'm dumb. didn't even think to look on the site.
i'm definitely intrigued by the mantra. it's a very classy looking knife in the white g10.
