Re: Attack of the modern slipjoints!!!!
I think Lionsteel makes a nice modern traditional knife and it comes in M390. The nicest UKPK I have seen is Landon’s modified Ti UKPK with the faux jigged bone. That thing is exceptional. ;) I forgot to add that one to the list! Thanks Darby! Yes, Landon’s UKPK is insane. You mean this old thing? ...

Re: locking drop point UK Penknife?
The drop point is an excellent blade. I had one on my old G10 UKPK. Loved it so much I recently mooted the idea of giving the Urban the drop point treatment. Currently I think the closest you'll get is the full Stretch. A "Lil" Stretch or locking UKPK is a great idea inmho. The design is a...

Anyone else got any thoughts they'd care to share on the idea of a brown handled Urban or UKPK?

Re: Coyote Urban/UKPK
Bit of a thread bump here.. I learn there may be a salt series UKPK in the offing, which sounds like a cool idea; but seeing as there are a couple of Byrd models coming out in brown FRN I was wondering if having seen them any of you guys would be interested in registering interest in there being a U...

Re: Coyote Urban/UKPK
I'm all for a Pingo in coyote. And the Roadie, DKPK and Squeak too. A Coyote brown suite of 'restricted carry zone' friendly knives would be wonderful. I personally think the Urban is the best balanced of the Slipits but can see the attraction of the other Slipits too. Could call it the 'Earth walke...

Re: Coyote Urban/UKPK
I didnt bother to check but if the Urban can be had in the right color (not black), you can just RIT dye the handles. Somebody recently posted some very nice COYOTE BROWN dyed handles on a Spyderco. Looked great. That's exactly my point :) Coyote brown looks great :D A Golden UKPK in coyote with a ...

Re: Coyote Urban/UKPK
How about coyote brown FRN and S35VN? I would love coyote brown FRN and Elmax too. But basically the more affordable it is to get the steel to the Maniago factory the more feasible it'll be to bring the knife to production. So do any of you guy know of good quality european steels that Sal might be ...

Coyote Urban/UKPK
It would go straight to the top of my Christmas list.... Who's with me? I see the Urban and UKPK as present and future Euro carry classics comparable to how the the Delica, Endura and Para 2 are in the US; and having seen the handsome coyote/earth brown FRN used on the Endura and Delica, I think it'...

Re: ELMAX Titanium Urban
Nice catch. I just missed out on getting a third BB Elmax Urban on a different forum. Was a good price too . I must get up earlier! These beauties are only going to increase in desirability as more regions tighten their laws on locking knives

Re: changes in blade thought across the years
Started out with a British Sailor's clasp knife my dad had left me when I was a boy, and as a youngster, lusting after those crappy little fish shaped penknives you could get for pocket money at the sea side. The first proper knife (and first oho) I bought about was about 30 years ago and was (what ...

Re: Pick a favorite out of these 5....
I chose the UKPK followed by the Caly 3, followed by the Para 3. Being British, the UKPK was designed for the likes of me so it's the obvious choice. The Caly 3 as the locking version of the suberb UKPK is an easy second. The Para 3 interests me as I've had a couple of Para 2's and liked them a lot ...

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
My absolutely every day (no matter what) carry is a British Blades limited edition Urban in Elmax steel and British Racing Green FRN.
I'm at that point where I don't feel properly dressed when I go out unless it's in my pocket :o :D

Re: ELMAX Titanium Urban
I do hope we can drum up more interest. If not for lovely Titanium or Pakkawood versions, then at the very least for a dark (Coyote?) brown sprint run? More support is needed for this lovely little 2.6 inch slipit before Sal and the crew reduce it permenently to 2.5 inches; changing it's character f...

Re: ELMAX Titanium Urban
Being British, I personally think the BB Urban was affordable perfection (the British Racing Green was perfect for a British Blades knife imho). Making the Ti Urban a forum knife for this forum sounds like genius to me. It sounds like 1200 is the minimum order and I can see the concern about being a...

Re: ELMAX Titanium Urban
Hello all. I've finally signed in just to add weight to the call for this knife. I have two BB elmax Urbans and desperately want a Titanium version. I always liked the Ti UKPK but found the UKPK just a tad too big to use comfortably in the company of NKP. A Ti Urban is an absolute must have as no on...
