Re: Spy27 Delica?

I guess I don't see the point, other than for novelty. Wasn't it created to be an American version of vg10 (albeit upgraded)? I understand using SPY27 in US models since we can't ship vg10 here, but why make a Seki model more expensive by shipping SPY27 over there? Seems like it goes against the rea...

Re: Extreme LC200N (Accidental) Corrosion Test

I don't think they're LC200N. Spyderco just calls them "stainless steel": Definitely makes more sense to use a more stainless steel if edge holding isn't a concern, especially since they're cheaper and that's a pretty good slab of them on each side. I bet it's a 300-series stainless. I'm ...

The green scales looks more utilitiarian than the original blue that looks kitchen-knifey.

The original is black and grey.

From all the stories about the real thing I thought there'd be many many more than I've actually seen.
They kept it fairly simple. No exclusives and I think they said they only included models with a fairly large amount of seconds available. This wasn't supposed to mimic the in-person sale.

Re: 2020 Seconds Sale - BREAKING NEWS

For those who have been to previous factory second sales; do the fixed blade knives come with sheaths and if so do the sheaths have some sort of defect as well. I am looking into buying a bow river at this sale and it will be my first Spyderco knife. :) If you're only looking to get a Bow River ($3...

(For example, small scratch on handle - 5% off, blade won't lock - 70% off.)
I'm sure I've heard them say the knives are all supposed to be safe to use. So you should not ever find a knife that won't lock. That would be very unsafe and NOT a "2nd". This isn't a trash sale.

Re: Li'l Temperance 3: A (not so) li'l review

As others have stated, I too missed the opportunity to experience the LT3 due to price being a bit in discrepancy with my morale of value and funds, although this one really stood out to me in the line-up upon release and has continued to pique my interest. If you want to risk an Amazon purchase, i...

You think some current delays are long? The Politician would be released decades after the reveal.

Re: Permanent damage that you've actually done to a knife?

This Boker Top Lock was my main carry on a farm for about 6 years. Even used it as a makeshift hammer if it was necessary. The Kraton inserts eventually fell out, the screws disappeared one by one to the point that I used a COTTER PIN through the lanyard hole to keep the handle together. I wish I kn...

Re: Sal, Can We Form A Collective, And Order An Exclusive?

I've been part watch forums and I've seen small manufacturers make a forum specific watch. I think this is a good idea especially if "Spyderco Forum" would be printed somewhere on the knife. There have been multiple forum knives in the past. Last one was 2018 https://www.spyderco.com/cata...

Re: Sal, Can We Form A Collective, And Order An Exclusive?

Prices haven't been touched on. Hypothetically, since it would be a "collective" and not retail, surely there would need to be a steep discount from MAP, right? We would essentially be paying dealer cost because there is nobody else besides Spyderco to turn a profit. Would Spyderco even al...

Re: Is it possible we're stretching spyderco a little thin...?

I think you're confusing suggestions with demands . We're not carrying torches. It can't be a bad thing to have an abundance of suggestions and ideas floating around. And I remember Sal saying it's a good way to judge consumer demand for new products.

Probably an unpopular opinion, but it would be nice to see the Endela in foliage green and a sabre grind combo edge to match the Delica and Endura.

That's a LOT of people who are going to be bummed.
