Starting around the $250 range at least for roof prism binoculars you can find "phase coated optics". I have a Pentax WP 8x42 set and the clarity and the brightness is amazing, even compared to glasses with the same exit pupil.

I don't think I've responded to any of crahen's polls, but I sure have enjoyed them. I think this would be a much less interesting place without them.

This is an official suck up. I don't work for crahen, but having someone on your side who talks that much can't hurt! :)
