Re: Fred Perrin and Laci Szabo

Just to be clear, this is the Szabo UUK knife I was talking about, not the Spyderco Szabo: https://www.arizonacustomknives.com/media/catalog/product/cache/image/650x435/a855f00612dd946c2aa3f385e4e230aa/0/1/0129846943398380000.jpg https://www.arizonacustomknives.com/media/catalog/product/cache/image/...

Re: Szabo UUK folder

The Szabo is getting mixed reactions (Love or Hate). It IS an unusual design. We'll be showing the proto at the Blade show in Atlanta this June. Unfortunaely, the decision to go into production on a model is highly dependent on whether or not the design will be popular enough to regain tooling &...

Mamba Fakes?

I recently watched a youtube video of a Chinese fake Mamba being advertised with a link to a Chinese website and, of course, a ridiculously low price. ****, it looked good but I am personally revolted and angered by these counterfeits. I kept looking for a "tell". The "Brend/Pirela&qu...

Chinook questions

I'm confused. Dr.Snubnose did some meat tests on the Chinook II (flat grind) aka Chinook III in 2006: http://www.spyderco.com/forumII/viewtopic.php?t=22805 He compared it to earlier test on the Chinook II (hollow grind) and found the hollow grind superior to the flat grind for slashing. On the other...

Just found the PPT. Surprised no one mentioned it. Any comments pro or con?

Re: Looking for reverse grip edge in folder

A company called RGT makes a solid milled titanium replacement for the Spyderco wire clip - https://rippsgaragetech.com/products/spyderco-techno-3d-machined-pocket-clip?variant=6385039409182. I'm thinking of getting one myself to put on my Spydiechef for aesthetics. Thanks, I wish I knew about thes...

Re: Looking for reverse grip edge in folder

Thanks for the pics of the PM2 grips. This and the lil' Temperance 3 are now on my short list. Emerson also makes a framelock version of the CQC7, I think it's called the HD7.

It might sound trivial but the only problem I had with the P'kal was the stiff wire pocket clip and believe me, I tried.

Re: Looking for reverse grip edge in folder

Hi Old_Dog, Welcome to our forum. I designed the Lil' Temperance 3 with that concept in mind. No thumb cap, but not necessary as you will note when you hold it. https://www.spyderco.com/catalog/details/C69G3/Lil-Temperance-trade-3/1032 I'm planning an FRN version, but it's still a year out. sal Int...

What is a “thumb cap”?
You wrap your thumb on the butt of the knife to prevent your hand from sliding onto the blade if you hit a hard object.

Looking for reverse grip edge in folder

Hello, I'm looking for a folder that is comfortable and secure in RGEI (reverse grip edge in) other than the P'kal (been there done that). Any knife with the stiff wire pocket clip is a non-starter for me. Also the butt of the knife should be compatible with a thumb cap. Not looking for a fixed blad...
