Re: Brittle clips on Salt models?

Thanks for the comments and links everyone. My Ti replacement is in the mail, but I still am bummed since it broke so easily after doing the same thing (reshaping the clip) with so many other models in the past...

Brittle clips on Salt models?

I recently snagged a machine with my native at work & bent the clip... No big deal right? Just bend it back like you always do, right? Nope -- it snapped! After emailing a CSR, I was surprised & disappointed to read that they were "sorry that I was having trouble" but only said to ...

Nice collection you have, if I hadn't just plunked down $400 for a Sebenza I would be all over that 25th Delica. I doubt that it will fly off my shelf; and, as with many other of my favorites I would really hate to see them go. Yeah, the FRN enduras and delicas can come and go, but there are a few ...

Thanks for the help guys; I'm not much on consigments or auctions any more, so I'm trying the local craigslist and I'll give the Busse b/s/t a try, too.

Been a long time, but I'm thinning out my collection

All, I have been away from the spydie forums and even from collecting now for quite a while. I had the bug really bad a few years ago though and have some gems to prove it. However, I've evolved to feel that there are more important things to me than having a safe full of awesome spydies...I've pare...

The Manix would be too much extra weight, and would be left on the trail at some point. The Manix is far more knife than you’ll require. With all due respect, I would never intentionally leave my knife trailside because of a few extra ounces...if you get to this point I'm afraid you'll RIP soon! Ta...

collector's corner?

Deacon's idea, although from last October, sounds great to me! It would be awesome to get some in depth history on each model...I remember the 'story book' having a little synopsis/time line of such for the early models, but we need to record the current info before it is accidentally forgotten as w...

another big caly thread

With all the success of the caly jr in ZDP, has the thought of bringing back the full size been considered much? It certainly seems that the hitachi steel is the hottest thing going to-date; a sprint run of full-sized CF calypsos in PE ZDP-189 would certainly increase my credit card bills :p BTW, j...

yep

Any other spyde owners oth there with these marks? Mine are also on the same side as yours are of my PE temperance...all just in a fairly straight line across, though. One to the left of 'japan' and two to the right. They all three seem to have caused more dimpling in the surrounding steel than you...

civilian, an excellent knife

...what about FRN handle vs G10? Quality difference there, or just a different feel? ...The more useful, more rugged knife of the two is half the price, and still has a menacing look to it. Just not sure I want to go the logical route! :spyder: The civilian actually has a single steel liner with th...

suggestion

Have any of you ever seen cow horn scales? They are actually one of the most appealing scales I've come across. I don't know how durable they are, as with all natural/horn handle materials, but they have a wonderful depth and color blend. Cow horn might be a fairly cheap, yet still handsome alternat...

I must admit that I am hesitant to accept this new version evern as an endura... The wave causes the blade to appear more like a vesuvius/CIII than an endura IMO. I've been away from the forum for a while, so I've not really been 'in the loop,' and what a differance a few months makes!!! Cool pics t...

NGK's 'band-aids' came in handy on the 1st handling...sorry ghostrider, I had to use one ;) there are ~6-7 left for you :p

Some people complain that the torx screws strip more easily than phillips, but I think it's all in the positioning of the driver and the actual goodness of fit that the driver and screw share IMO.
