Yojimbo for EDC
Tip: If you're carrying the Yojimbo only, and want to spread a sandwich, use the blade ramp instead of the cutting surface. (Hold the knife upside down, at an angle.) This is more convenient than trying to use the flat cutting edge for spreading.

You can find a collection of MBC training ideas at http://www.spyderco.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13721 but this is certainly not a substitute for proper instruction.

I'd like to second Mike's caution on hard armguards. Last weekend I split the skin on a knuckle as I trained with a partner who wore a hard armguard. A good armguard should protect you and your training partner.

I have traveled with firearms in checked luggage, internationally. I would be very surprised if you had a problem transporting knives in checked baggage. Theft by baggage handlers is an issue, I suppose, but what are the odds of that? Occasionally my checked baggage gets lost temporarily, so that's ...

That's a good suggestion, Thom. A friend (and Spyerco forum subscriber) sent me this article yesterday, which includes your "interference drill."

What equipment and technique suggestions do you have for live cutting drills?
:spyder: Earlier, Daywalker suggested a foam pool noodle wrapped around a long dowel.

Please consider rounding the back (top, non-cutting edge) of the trainer's blade too. My Yojimbo's square-cut "ramp" will cut skin when bumped hard. I expect a lot of accidents with training partners if the trainer has the 90 degree edge on the blade ramp (from point/tip to thumb grooves above the ...

Thanks for the suggestions, DayWalker.
I have not tried your ideas yet. During Michael Janich's "level 1" class ( http://www.martialbladeconcepts.com/ ) we covered the basics of "defanging the snake." Mike did a cutting demo on "pork man," which was a pork roast wrapped around a dowel, covered with ...
