Re: Which should be the next model in Cru-carta?

I voted Military of course. Second place would be the Police 4. Then, the Delica. SS Stretch and Manix XL get honorable mentions. Native Chief of course, but I've not handled one yet to see if it fits my hand.

And... where do you secure the clip when you are naked...??? No pictures please!
Just store it in your prison wallet. J/k I have it hang on a little 3M adhesive double-hook thing that I have my loofah hanging on. I just leave it hanging in the shower. It's my shower knife.

Thanks for the input, guys. I'm going to test my two different soaps on it and report back with my findings.

No, it never got sprayed by a cleaner. This is something that happened overnight or within the last 2 days.

Re: Soap causing corrosion on H1??

I would be more worried about whats in your soap. Seriously though it seems like its some kind of staining from the soap. Not all staining or corrosion is rust, and h1 only promises not to rust, so... Yeah, no kidding. Might be time to change my soap. As Larrin has noted on his blog, while H1 is to...

Re: Soap causing corrosion on H1??

Pretty sure we had shower knife discussions before. Also someone once corroded H1 really bad with a chlorine tablet. Could the spotting on the blade have to do with chlorine levels in the tap water? Jim It could be the chlorine. I don't notice a strong chlorine smell or anything, and I've got a pre...

Re: Soap causing corrosion on H1??

Lol sweet, this is the scoop bro. We have a shower that's over the bath so we stand in the bath to shower. I put the plug in as im having a shower, by the end of my shower my dead skin on my feet is white like it gets. Hold the knife one hand and hold the blade tip in your other and draw the skin o...

Hold on, just looking at this pic, I cant see you using this blade to remove soft waterlogged skin lol, I definitely wouldn't go serrated for that.
Yeah man, I definitely wouldn't use serrated for it, but I am going to try it with a plain-edge knife now that you've suggested it.

Re: Soap causing corrosion on H1??

I'm no expert, but that looks almost like acid etching to me. Just like when people darken other stainless steels. Is the shower cleaned with an acid based cleaner, or strong chlorine? Nope, this was just some splatter from my body wash. I do agree with you though that it looks like etching - it al...

Soap causing corrosion on H1??

I checked my shower knife earlier this morning, and I noticed that my Ladybug Salt HB appeared to have some corrosion spotting from having some suds splattered on it. I rubbed off most of it, but there is still these darker specks left that won't scrub off - anyone seen anything similar to this befo...

Re: Throwing hatchets/axes/tomahawks

Yeah, they've got wood handles. I think they're actually pretty durable, but I must say that they're not my favorite to throw. I much prefer the SOG Fasthawk - probably because it's lighter and I can throw it harder and further. I'm also better at getting the SOG to stick.

Re: Throwing hatchets/axes/tomahawks

I, too, have several throwing tomahawks. I have several of the SOG Fasthawks (those are the smaller ones) and few Cold Steel tomahawks. I always bring one with me when camping to throw around a bit.

I don't have a reco, but I wanted to reply to subscribe and follow this thread. I need to find some nicer pairs of boots. I have Dr. Martens, some cowboy boots and some H-D Wolverine boots which are excellent, but I'm looking for something different now.

Re: B's Adamas line moves to Cru-wear

I'm definitely going to buy one of these. I almost jumped on the Adamas when it was discontinued, but I decided against it. Cruwear will push me over the edge though.
