Chicago bolts

Hey everyone I’m modding a Becker bk9 and I notice I have to screw the handle scales back in place and they are attached with Chicago bolts. My newb question is how tight do they need to be once screwed back in? Really tight or just snug? Thanks.

Re: Did then Endura always have this?

No, it didn't. Orhers will know more about this, but at least the first gen Endura had no "humped shaped tip". I personally like the change made to the tip. On my Enduras (all 4th gen) the tip always was pointy enough for my needs, while also feeling strong in the sense that I never feare...

Did the Endura always have the reinforced tip? What are your thoughts on the hump shaped tip?

Re: Lansky spyder serrations sharpener.

Thanks everyone I used the white and went slow and it made the serrations sharp again thought I tried it with the serrations of another knife brand and no luck. I gotta say I’m really impressed with the edge holding of vg10 and Spyderco serrations!

Re: Lansky spyder serrations sharpener.

Lansky was my first guided sharpening system but I had to look up the serrated stone. It’s essentially a mounted Sharpmaker triangle stone. It will work fine. If you’re a masochist, you could work on individual serrations but I would only do that to repair an edge. I would use steady, sweeping stro...

Hello has anyone used the lansky stone meant specifically for Spyderco serrations? Is it easy to use and was it effective? Thanks!

Re: What video games are you guys and gals playing?

What video games are you all playing? I’m starting fallout new Vegas again hopefully gonna actually finish it this time. The end-game choices in New Vegas annoyed me... especially since killing Caesar didn't end the plot lines involving him. I beat all the content in the main and DLC, but didn't sa...

Re: Can the sharp maker touch up a Kukri?

Yeah it could but it wouldn't be my first pick. I've got one of the older Spyderco GALLEY V kits that have much longer sharpening stones than what they have with the 204 Sharpmaker. But I would even prefer something even more versatile than the GALLEY V unit to be honest. I would probably take my T...

Are desiccant bags necessary?

Hello I have a few S30V fixed blades that are in a plastic toolbox in their kydex sheaths they will be staying in there for a year. They have been wiped with Marine tuff glide and the box is in a dry place in my house though I’m wandering if desiccant bags will be needed too? Thanks everyone.

Re: Cabron steel and temperature changes.

It does not get anymore humid (or hot) than where I live. It is equatorial, jungle, sea air, river air, 100% humidity, high heat, day in and day out. I use Vaseline on my carbon steel blades. It is food safe, and the paraffin wax in it keeps the mineral oil in it on the blades. A coat so thin you c...

I doubt the temparture but moisture/humidity will. Most new carbon blades come with some level of coating but I'd put a fresh coat on when you get them.
Puts my mind at ease a bit thanks.

Cabron, that is funny. :D

VG10 will be fine. The 1095 should be at least coated with oil if it is from a decent company/maker. I wouldn't worry too much.
Haha cheers mate.

Carbon steel and temperature changes.

Hello I’m living in the Southern Hemisphere and am getting some 1095 and VG10 knives coming in from America. My worry is that as it’s summer here and winter there, will the sudden changes in temperature causes rust on either of these Steels? Thank you.

Opinions on the Ronin 2.

Hey all I have the all time great that is the Yojimbo 2 and like the idea of a fixed blade version of it. Any Ronin owners here? Do you like it?
