3. knife is thinner and lighter overall

The Techno 2 is actually the same or Thicker than original Techno. Scales are much thicker, negating the thinner blade.

Re: Techno vs Techno 2

One thing I didn't notice previously, is that despite the thinner blade (a great thing), the scales are substantially thicker on the Techno 2, so the total thickness of the knife will be same, or more likely thicker than the original Techno. A more reasonable and slicey blade is awesome, but I was t...

Re: Techno vs Techno 2

Hope either a lock bar insert or carbidized lock face. A $200 titanium frame lock should have one of those features IMO.

Re: 2018 Forum Knife?

Please: • Between 3 and 4 inch handle (i.e. a knife suited for normal everyday uses/carry by your average joe, not someone chopping trees down) • Any scales except the sandpaper pocket ripper standard g10 texture. Smooth g10, frn, carbon fiber, anything except the standard g10. At the very very leas...

Nice write up and pics. Here's the $81 question: Do you think the Lil' Temp is worth the 63% price increase over the Para 3?
For me, definitely not.

Re: LC200N Caribbean

There are also a lot of steels that cant rust that ARENT LC200N and H1, and are much cheaper and better for making the hardware/liners from. :) Yes of course there are other steels that are highly rust resistant and good for liners, but I think perhaps you have not understood what I wrote or maybe ...

Re: LC200N Caribbean

I thought the current Caribbean is quite large, but the next version even larger, darn.

Hoping to see some more pocketable knives in LC200n, 3 and 4 inch handles.

Re: LC200N Caribbean

Man I sure hope there are no ball bearings in the Caribbean or any Salt knife ever, just another place to get gunked up, especially in a knife that will see a lot of that if used for fishing etc. I'm sure Sal just misspoke though. We are also learning that H1 may be better at corrosion resistance th...

Re: Native 5 Salt G10

Please no on the full liners. That is where corrosion is most likely to happen, water getting trapped behind liners. And if lc200n is used in the liners as well then at the very least it is one more place to attract gunk. I have grown to hate liners in general. If G10 or FRN is of sufficient thickne...

Re: Spyderco Forum Name Tag - Available for Pre-Order

The join date requirement is a little disappointing. In the other thread it seemed this would be open to all. I mean it's open to BladeForums members so it's not exactly as if it's being restricted to this community anyway. I've read the forum off and on for years but just joined a week ago. :( Oh w...

According to my recent call to Spyderco, it sounds like the Rhino will be here very soon. I can’t give a specific date, but soon!

Thanks again for all the continued support on this. I greatly appreciate that. :)
Awesome thank you, can't wait!

Re: Chaparral Lightweight - thoughts and pics

On mine the backlock and blade spine have a tiny chamfer. Do you still have the box? Does yours say Japan? I'm thinking the Japan thing may be a misprint. Also, when did you get yours? I wonder when they started chamfering. I suppose the best chance to get a chamfered one is to purchase from a plac...

Re: Chaparral Lightweight - thoughts and pics

It would be great to get clarification on this seemingly updated model with chamfered back lock (and possibly made in Japan??).

I would buy one if I can get the chamfered version.

Re: Lil Native what shall be the 1st Sprint?

FRN please! A Lil Native in linerless FRN would be amazing, I would buy multiple of them. I really want a Lil Native but I highly dislike the rough G10 texture. More knives in FRN would be great.

Re: Smaller chokwe

Handle material: anything except standard rough G10 would be awesome. So many spydies I want buy but I can't because the sandpapery G10 texture does not agree with my pants pocket. If it must be G10, I request smooth G10, it can look quite nice, doesn't kill your pants, and it is still adequately gr...
