I think I have knives in 30 or so steels. These all shine for different reasons. All assume good heat treat.

Presuming this Southard C156GPBN is fake?
Bought a Southard C152GPBN from Ebay. Got it hand and it felt a little heavy. Magnet sticks to the lock side scale (it should be titanium) and it weighs 5.2 oz (all sites seem to indicate 4.1 oz). Presume this is a clear fake, but wanted to ensure that I wasn't missing something. https://i.imgur.com...

Re: Knife rules for N. Carolina?
I live in the RDU area, you may want to look up north of Raleigh in Creedmoor, housing with some land is still relatively inexpensive and you can get to Durham or Raleigh in about 20-40 minutes depending where you are going. The housing market in the area is a bit high at the moment, and there has b...

I have one of them without that problem. I would exchange it for a new one. If you can't do that send it in for service.

Re: The Drunken: Amazing Knife, Ruined by its Pocket Clip.
I returned my first one. The lock stick was just too much (it literally made the same snap locking and unlocking the knife). I got another one. This one is worse. It has a weak detent and came so tight it was impossible to flick open, where the first one fired out. I tried adjusting the pivot, and i...

Re: The Drunken: Amazing Knife, Ruined by its Pocket Clip.
Just got mine. First impressions, great milling and detent is good. Knife is not nearly as smooth as my SpydieChef, but I haven't taken it apart yet to clean out and lube. Overall the knife is well milled, and l has a level of detail that you have to spend time looking over to appreciate, a casual g...

Re: New Spyder Knife, need sharpening?
Nothing wrong with the worksharp, especially if you have the Ken Onion edition and you already are familiar with it and know how to sharpen. Match the bevel and just touch it up on the fine or extra fine belt. I would say that tools like the worksharp are more dangerous for new sharpeners, as its ea...

Re: Hard truths and observations
People and companies are free to sell the products for what they want. Right now, the high quality Chinese knives don't have widespread exposure or reputation in US markets and B&M. A lot of nonknife people have zero way to find out if they like a kizer t1, WE 620 or a Spyderco shaman more. The ...

Really like the design on the new par 3 lw. I think both the delicate and p3lw need to be about $10-15 dollars cheaper

Re: price increase?!
My worry is that there is another option, you can buy a massdrop lacinuco, a steel will, and a lot of other great knives for that inflation value of $132. You can buy the same amount of knives from other brands, vs a smaller amount of spydercos. Again, I want to support spyderco, but the prices are ...

Re: price increase?!
First, I'll start with that I want to see Spyderco succeed, they are unique in the market due to the the variety of steels that they use and some great in house designs, that being said, price increases are concerning. I feel that these continued price raises are not taking into account the competit...

Re: China and tariffs
Sal, thanks for the feedback and this discussion. A few more thoughts Assumptions: *Steel and Finished Good tariffs are independent of each other. * Steel import tariffs are increasing on raw/unfinished steel imported into the USA but produced outside of the USA. * Finished Goods (Knife) tariffs are...

Re: China and tariffs
Thoughts with some pretty heavy assumptions. I certainly welcome corrections. I've put a couple notes (*#) in areas where I felt further detail may be warranted. 1. The 20% duty on a chinese produced spyderco is based on the the price paid to the producer of the knife, not the price a consumer would...

Re: non-knife people with great knives
I think a lot of it has to do with the different mentalities between a few different groups. 1. collectors, This is the limited edition 2018 forum knife which was only released on July 30th and only sold between 10am and 11am MST! 2. gear heads, did you know that that knife has Maxamet! 3. people wh...

Weird Paramilitary 2 DLC 1/2 Blackout?
Hello, I picked this up a bit ago and was wondering if anyone might have any more detail or information around it. From what I can tell its a real G81GPBK2, but the logos on the front side of the blade are not present (the Spyder and the Spyderco CPM S30v), the logos on the back of the knife are pre...
