Re: Can We Please Have a PM2 with CBBL or a Pin and Springs Lock?

Amen to that. Wish the Superleaf was available in a sprint run with S90V, S35VN, or LC200N. That would be perfect. In the meantime the Manix is the knife the original poster is describing. The CBBL is just better than the Axis lock and the Manix is available in FRCP with several steel choices. There...

Good point! I assume Bloke means we already have this knife. If not is there a market for the Aqua Salt? It was discontinued already.

Re: The Spyderco Earth- a knife made from 100% recycled materials

Great idea! While it has appeal the devil will be in the details. I’m guessing quality control would be a barrier and there could be liability issues in the event of any kind of problem.
All the negativity aside I would love to see this happen.

Re: Poll: more CBBL

Yes! More CBBL, in a variety of sizes, blade shapes and more. I think it’s perfect as is in the Manix as a hard use folder. I would like to see a gent’s folder in the 2.5 to 3.0 inch range. I would also be interested in a large (K2, Chinook, Tatanka) folder with a stout blade.

Re: Tuff Love - Any Hope of a Sprint Run?

I’d be interested in a Sprint Run, especially with the prototype titanium tooling. My only Schempp design knife is a Bowie and it’s a great knife. I would be interested in any Ed Schempp designs after buying the Bowie just so I could get it signed at the SFO sale last year. In hand that knife is exc...

Re: What types of colors of FRN do you prefer?

I really like FRCP better. The scales on my Manix LW are nicer than the FRN to me. Having said that the British racing green on the ZDP 189 knives is a good color.

Re: Given that VG10 / S30V are 100% rustproof enough for me - is there still a reason for LC 200 N?

LC 200N is easy to sharpen on the Sharpmaker and in a FFG like the Spydiechef is a superb slicer. I love some of my knives in VG 10 for the design, the ergonomics, like the Cook’s knife and the Superleaf, but not for the steel. Nothing wrong with VG 10, but it’s not exciting either. My Spydiechef on...

Re: Mulling over the Mule

Too many variables to answer yes. I could be interested in a locking folder if it was not a back lock and the scales were removable/exchangeable. Similar to TRM selling scales from the factory. Then it would depend on the steel. Doesn’t have to be stainless or exotic. Have to be a step up from VG 10.

Re: Multiple edc

Roadie on the keychain. Dragonfly in the watch pocket. Smock in the right front. Or a PM2, Spydiechef, Manix2 or similar right front pocket. If a Military it’s right rear pocket instead. Never 2 folders in the same pocket. If I’m carrying a Leatherman I only carry 1 knife.

Another vote for making this a sticky! Any idea whether the Smock clip is compatible with any others?

Re: Am I paranoid about counterfeits?

I have bought a couple of Higonokami folders and some Victorinox on Amazon and I haven’t gotten a fake yet. However I wouldn’t buy a Spyderco knife there. It just seems too risky. I know they have a generous return policy but it would be better if they stomped on the counterfeiters in their marketpl...

Re: Easy knife sharpener for beginner

1) Sharpmaker 2) Sharpmaker Watch the videos on YouTube of Sal and company demonstrating how to use same. It’s the only one you need. I never use my Arkansas stones anymore. I am not an advanced user so I am sure there are some great more capable systems but for kitchen implements, knives, and sciss...

Re: Lc200n Manix 2 LW Interest Poll

Yes, this is a match made in heaven! I don’t want a back lock though. LC 200N, CBBL, and the wire clip. If we could get FRCP in a translucent yellow even better. Screws not pins as in the other lightweights.

Re: How I Really Buy Knives

I would like to think that I have a rational process for knife purchases. I can’t buy everything I want. Won’t spend more than $400 again (it was a Chris Reeve knife). I strongly prefer premium materials (the steel and slabs) and for it to be a Spyderco. I buy locking folders. Then I see something I...

Re: What's your favorite Spyderco that's a little bit of a "hidden gem?"

I usually carry 2 knives. The Dragonfly 2 in ZDP 189, in my watch pocket and a 3” or larger in the right front or rear pocket. The Dragonfly already has some mentions in the thread so I will pick another watch pocket knife. Since I carry 2 I will pick 2 gems, 1 small, 1 large. The Chaparral in Raffi...

I’d like something besides black. Almost anything else would be fine with me. Burgundy, Forest green or a dark but not Navy blue would be my first choices.

Re: Vote: SMOCK v.s. IKUCHI

I voted Smock, ‘cause I haven’t bought an Ikuchi yet. This application of the compression lock is awesome. The Smock’s blade shape works well for every day cutting chores. I would prefer a black wire clip like the one on the Schempp Bowie. It has an excellent flipping action. Much better than the Po...

Beautiful work. Not my cup of tea, but I think the price is fair. I don’t value knives as investments but I would carry one of these happily.
