I actually likes the smooth g10 but I'm a carbon fiber junkie. Found these round contoured smooth matte CF scales from Aramis.

Aftermarket scales might cost half of the cost of a new knife. Just buy the second knife. Have 2!

Would corrosion under DLC be about as likely as corrosion between laminated steels? HAP40 and SUS410, for example? It's a beautiful knife. The all black hardware and liners makes this knife visually speaking.

The parts where corrosion might be a bigger problem is in the pivots where you can't see and where there usually isn't any dlc coating. I have a 52100 dlc coated manix2 I don't like to get wet. And worse is the pinned Maxamet that you won't ever know how it looks inside.

I've become a big buyer if mxg clips. And they're always in stock. This is my 2nd favorite version (deep carry). They have a slightly less deep cary that fits flush with edge on pm2 and Manix 2.

I agree open blade play is the only concern. I think most if not all of mine have play while closed.
