Thats the only downside to the Sharpmaker, IMO. If you cant afford the diamond stones (I cant) Buy some 120, 220, and 320 grit sand paper and use that wrapped around the stones for reprofiling. Awesome knives. I just got done sharpening my Bowie. I brought the edge down to a 20/20 polished razor sharp edge (on the flats of the white stones).
