Re: Delica 4 in 2024?

Hey Xformer, You might want to take a closer look at the Polestar and Alcyone. Well made, Linerock, decent steel, inexpensive. I designed them originally to be smaller Military models for the Scouts. sal Hi Sal, Thanks for the suggestion. Nice designs no doubt. Unfortunately, I'm an obsessive perso...

Re: Delica 4 in 2024?

I've been waiting for a Delica 5 for a long time. S45VN as standard, less hardware etc. Or let's dream : a liner lock Delica. I do like linerlocks, and would find a variant of the Delica with that lock interesting, but generally: Why? (Honest question) The backlock works great on this model, right?...

Different sticker on the box of my Military.

Hi,

Just a quick confirmation needed : the label sticker of my Military is different than the one we usually see on Spyderco knife. Does that mean it's a fake ? Image

Thanks

Re: Knives - FRN with Liners

The chaparral lightweight is frn with liners. Very solid feeling, yet with a very slicey thin blade. Great knife. Another nice feature of the FRN chap is the full steel back spacer. It is one of the few (or only?) current FRN models that has a steel back spacer. This helps gives a very solid and mo...

Re: Let’s face it Liner Locks and Back Locks suck!

Backlocks I agree with you, I don't understand how they're still a thing. I dunno, maybe being fully ambidextrous, easy to operate one handed even with gloves on, not requiring fingers in the path of a closing blade, tough to unlock by accident, being one of the best locks at keeping a closed knife...

Re: Let’s face it Liner Locks and Back Locks suck!

I wish the PM2, the Delica and the Native 5 were linerlocks. Liner locks are the second lock I prefer next to a framelock.

Backlocks I agree with you, I don't understand how they're still a thing.

Re: Venting about Tanto PM2.. again.

I've been a BladeHQ customer for years and I can't recall them doing that kind of thing, they have always been fair and highly reliable in terms of business. That would be very unprofessional and dishonest to send people defect knives.

Re: Biggest sturdy Spyderco folder?

Tuff is the most beefy folder I have. It feels indestructable, with a matching heavy duty action. Old pictures: It is large, but not overly large. It has a similar cutting edge to the Shaman. https://i.postimg.cc/bJxggkYJ/20171208-181503.jpg Blade is noticeably thicker, with a massive stop pin. htt...

Re: Venting about Tanto PM2.. again.

Maybe we're starting to see the PM2 tanto as being a regular drop at Blade HQ ? Could be a good time... As long as the usual scalpers left the model alone.

Re: Venting about Tanto PM2.. again.

I think I was one of the most vocal about it back then and got a lot of flack for my take. I wouldn't call it "stupid", because that's quite insulting though. Spyderco people aren't stupid by any means. To me, the PM2 blade is too delicate and the tip is very fragile. It's weird to pair th...

Re: Benefits of the 15V Shaman?

It's just an exotic steel. The differences from the typical steels are marginal at best. It's just a cool steel from an engineering perspective, but actual use ? It's another variant of a tool steel.

A Nirvana lightweight (Same blade geometry but G10 and comp lock).

A Slysz Bowie 2. Steel insert + stand off instead of that ugly backspacer.

Eric has discussed the possibility of a custom shop with the Golden Knife-Makers and they seem to like the idea. We'll see what the future holds.

Re: Sal- PM2 Bowie

I was surprised by how polarizing it seemed to be when we first saw it, but I think it will grow on people. I’m going to try to do a blade swap with a Cruwear Micarta PM2 because I think the micarta will look better with a Bowie blade. I think one of the aftermarket backspacers will add to the look...
