Re: Ethnic series - complete listing

Very excited for the upcoming Shabaria sprint. The ethnic series wasn't really on my radar until a batch of the Hungarian popped up for a really good deal a while back, and now I am hooked on the whole concept.

Re: China and tariffs

Hi Sal. Correct me if I am wrong, but as of right now my impression was that current tariffs only effect imported steel, and not finished products made with that steel. Regardless, I can see how this is a really tough position. Manufacturing in the US is simply more expensive than China, and I assum...

Re: How different is your daily carry knife w/ gloves on?

My work knife is a Gayle Bradley 2, and it is awesome in that role EXCEPT for when I am doing something with gloves on. As far as I can tell it is literally impossible to operate the lock while wearing gloves. Just something to consider for a Bradley 3 eh?

Re: Spyderco Moran Fixed Blades: Your experiences, testimonials and feedback desired.

I've owned both variants of that Moran fixed blade Spyder. I've used the upswept version before. But for me the TEMPERANCE 1 model is about my favorite old school Spyderco fixed blade. Sigh, used to own a Temperance 2, and it was my favorite knife, but it got stolen a few years back when my house g...

Did Drunken Sinkevich copy Spdiechef? Who was first?
I noticed the similarities as well
I am a huge fan of any knife that allows room for the fingers underneath the belly of the knife. The more the merrier.

I'm in. And my hero, at the moment, is middle school teacher Jason Seaman, for reminding me how many wonderful courageous people exist out there in the world if you look for them.

Re: Need your opinion

I would say Native. But it depends, the Native is a bit wide and heavy. It makes a good smaller hard use knife, so if that is what you are looking to add to your collection then go for it. But if you already happen to have a Delica, and are satisfied with its durability, then the Native is going to ...

Re: Birthday gift knife for me!?

I recommend the Sliverax. It's not a perfect knife, in fact, it is one of the more flawed spydercos I own, but I have grown to really love it. And it is really oddly shaped, which for me is a huge bonus.

Re: Which Spyderco to Get a None Knife Person?

I would vote either a chaparral, or a Delica or Dragonfly in nicer scales. Something small, with an older style locking mechanism, that feels high quality both as an item and as a knife.

Re: What impact will the steel tariff have on knives?

My biggest concern is that a 25% tariff will encourage American companies to manufacture knives outside the US to avoid the tariffs. Particularly if they want to use steel that cannot be sourced locally.
