Do you have the zippered Sea to Summit, or the rolltop (the one that's advertised as waterproof)?
Zippered one that packs down to half a toilet paper roll in size. :)

Re: Mushroom Tool

I am a mushroom enthusiast. I confess to using opinels quite a lot - they are incredibly thin, which is really ideal for mushrooms. Spyderco doesn't have anything comparable. I also appreciate their ease of sharpening. A Centofante or Jess Horn would be good options. :)

Re: New Backpack

I am an avid hiker (here in Alaska, and beyond), and for the last 10+ years have heavily used a Sea to Summit bag that folds up to the size of half of a toilet paper roll. Their "Ultra Sil" is a great design. I also have used and abused one of their folding duffels a lot. Patagonia bags ar...

Re: Best Spyderco for Backpacking

I hike around southeast Alaska a lot, and tend to carry a SE dragonfly salt or military the most. The SE dragonfly salt is like a mini H1 chainsaw, yet is so light that it feels like it is barely there. It also stays out of the way during more athletic activities - cycling, XC skiing, etc. The mili ...

The ATR 2 in G10 always feels fabulously grippy in the hand, even when indexing into an alternate grip.

Re: Mushroom Tool

I am a fan of the Tasman Salt or Spyderhawk Salt for mushrooms, but often use a mili, because it is my most frequent carry.

I had a great experience recently, getting a new pivot screw for a much-beloved H1 SE dragonfly. Thanx much, Spyderco team!

Thanks for the sale, Spyderco! I managed to get just the knife I was hoping for as a second (with a LOT of effort!), and enjoyed participating in something special and unique with fellow enthusiasts. Cheers!

Any reason a forumite with a Zoom pro plan couldn't just set one of these up and invite folks?

I have done some Trader Vic's zoom calls for tiki enthusiasts, and they are a blast!

Re: Spyderco serration history

Coming out of lurker mode to express thanks for this awesome bit of history and insight into Spyderco's early years of innovation! My favorite Spyderco serrations are the ultra aggressive SE H1 serrations... especially on the Pacific and Atlantic platforms. SE Atlantic has been an EDC the last sever...

Re: Watu...AKA Lil Chokwe

Goes without saying that I am extremely excited about this one! Thanks, Spyderco, for continuing to refine and explore the possibilities for this traditional design, and for the effort involved in translating it into the realm of high-tech materials. It is also great to see continued, generous partn...
