I have started oiling my K390 blades for this reason as well (edge degradation via corrosion). I don’t use for food prep so non issue.

Not for poking holes, but a thin tip passes through material more easily than a thick tip. It's something I appreciate as a whittler. What steel is most similar to Spy 27 in your testing? Overall thoughts on this steel?

I believe is in a similar class as other s series steels (from a Larin article if memory is correct) but curious as to your take after testing.

I prefer my sage 5 over my para 3 - I have Rex and spy sage 5s in FRN and carry the Spy frequently these days.

Very similar models as others have pointed out.
Get one and try it out.
