Re: What will you be getting from the new reveal?

For me, I’ve been wanting the Swayback for years, so that’s a yes. And close behind is a Swick 5, likely SE. That Pochi might end up like the McBee for me; something I successfully passed on initially but ultimately relented to.

Re: Reveal 5 Live!

Surprised at the hourglass clip on the Swayback. Doesn’t seem to fit with the rest of the Slysz lineup. Nevertheless, I’ve been hoping for this one for years so I’m still, in no uncertain terms, an automatic day 1 purchase on this one.

Re: Benshot Lil Native Rocks glass

Picked up one for myself and two more for bday gifts for my brothers. Between this, the Sage 5 LW, and the Watu, my top (only? ehhh, who am I kidding) three desired Spyderco items for 2020 have been satisfied.

Have bought knives directly from Candi at the SFO on multiple occasions. Can confirm, she’s a pleasure to work with. :)

Re: Watu...AKA Lil Chokwe

Mine finally arrived today after some of shipping delays. What a great knife. It’s everything I was hoping and expecting. Fit and finish is superb on mine; another knockout in that regard from Taichung. I remember when Sal was discussing bringing back the Chokwe in a smaller version, and I was all-i...

Re: Watu...AKA Lil Chokwe

Got one inbound from DLT. Been looking forward to this one for a while. Glad to hear initial reports of free dropping action, even though it wouldn’t have been a deal breaker at all.

Re: Lil Chokwe

Hoping we see it at shot show and can see if it has a pivot bushing. Hope so too. With the CQI changes to the Kapara, and going right out of the gate with the Sage 5 LW, etc, I’d be really surprised if they didn’t go bushing pivot here as well. Seems to be the way the wind is blowing. Fingers cross...

Re: Reveal 4, What's your favorite release?

Watu for sure
Rocks Glass for sure
Something in REX45 likely (P3 LW, Lil Native?)
Interested in learning more about S45VN and SPY27 performance
K390 Ladybug?... intriguing, I can see talking myself into it

Re: Lil Chokwe

Agree with others, the CF laminate isn’t particularly exciting, but certainly not a deal breaker. With the 20CV, I’m definitely in for one of these!

Re: Slysz Swayback

Absolute day 1 purchase for me. This has been at the top of my Spydie wish list for years now. I’d expect XHP, fitting with the rest of the (non-Chef) Slysz collabs, but I’d take it with really any steel. (I mean, please don’t drop 8cr in there, but still. :D :D )

Re: Are you done with 2019, Spydie wise? What do you wish for in 2020?

2019 has been a good year Spydie-wise. Para3 Maxamet, Mantra 2, Caribbean, Shaman, McBee among others. I think that will be it for me for the year. Next year, I’m a definite day 1 purchaser of the Swayback, and will likely pick up a Sage 5 LW at some point. Beyond that, not much else I’m intentional...

Re: New to the knife scene

Hey guys, Over the last few months I’ve really started to get into this knife business. I’ve only bought one so far as I tend to only buy what really peaks my interest and I’m not trying to get a collection started. Out of curiosity, what was the knife you started with? Stick around on the forums l...

Re: Caribbean Scales: Love, or Hate?

Admittedly I didn’t love the look when first revealed, despite being a fan of black and yellow color schemes. But once I got one in hand I immediately grokked the smooth yet tactile grip and the layered G10 construction and milling. I’m a fan now, yeah.

Re: Which steels did you carry today?

This past week in Spydies, I’ve used:
-LC200N (Caribbean SE Leaf)
-Cruwear (Shaman)
-CTS-XHP (McBee)

Also M390 (two other makers), if that counts

I dunno Sal, I think from a Utilitarianism point of view, you’ve come out way on top. John Stuart Mill would nod his head in approval. ;)

Squarehead LW and a McBee. Added some coin pocket power to the collection.
