I own a couple of their knives and love them. They use American made high carbon files, mostly Nicholson. They use files that ate hardened all the way thru, not just the outside. They soften the file (annealing) it, allowing the steel to be ground into the knife shape. One the blade itself is 80% c...

Can we all say; WOW Spyderco, Thanks! I hate that I have to pass on this. I have another neck surgery coming up in a month and can't afford to spend the money. I really wish I could, but being out of work for 6-8 weeks does not leave much, even though as important as the new Forum Knife. Someone ple...

Incredible surprise-it was delivered today (151GTIP)

When I got home today I checked the mailbox and was surprised. The new Spyderco I ordered Friday was already here. I expected a package from Michigan to take longer than 2 days to make it to Georgia. I guess I should get to the point an let everyone know what I purchased. It was just a little pocket...

Wow, this looks really nice. I would love to have one, but its due out right around the time of the Blade show and most of my funds are allocated. The one big jump I am allowing myself is Ed's latest creation the Schempp Tuff. I haven't spent this much on a knife in a while, but I had to pull the tr...

I too have been drawn to the Japanese style knives of late. I have a full drawer in my Gershner-like cabinet. Most are Customs and have not really broken the bank. I have Kwaiken by Folts, a Kwaiken by Burnley along with his folder, a couple by Serge. Plus 3 or 4 more customs. I had a couple of laps...

Senate approves knife amendment, will it apply to Spyderco knives

On July 8, 10 U.S. Senators proposed an amendment to the 1958 U.S. Switchblade Act. Two days later, their colleagues voted unanimously to approve it. The measure, developed in conjunction with knife advocacy groups, would make an exception for assisted opening knives. If passed, U.S. Customs would n...

Roll call for Blade Show

The biggy will be here in less than a week! Who plans on attending the Blade Show besides Daddy Barlow and the Spyderco folks? My wife Stephanie and I will be there on Friday around 11am. We have been waiting for it the past 11 months. We always need a little time to recoup. I can't remember how man...

I feel for you, no pun intended. Tomorrow morning at 10am I go in for an epideral in my lower back. One month ago I had it done for my neck. I am going to alternate areas until we can get to a point I am not taking 3-4 percocet or Lortabs per day. Ain't it fun getting old. As long as I can make it t...

I must agree with you on the cutting ability of the sage. I had picked mine up a while ago and use it as my EDC for work. Today I had to cut some packing material and thought it was tougher than it was.Well that S30v sliced into my index finger like it was a laser thru butter. I tried to get one of ...

I picked up a unique classic Sebenza about 1 1/2 years after seeing Knifecollectors pair. They are incredible knives that I had never looked that closely at before. It is one of my EDC's of which I carry three, plus a TiCard in the wallet and Swisstech on keyring. I do not use it a lot, mostly for s...
