Changing pocket clip to tip up makes the pivot loose
I just got my Para 3 and if I tighten the pocket clip to the tip-up position, the pivot becomes extremely loose and creates blade play. This is reverted as soon as I tighten the pocket clip. I assume it has something to do with the screws messing with the metal liners near the pivot... Is this norma...

Spyderco Para3 vs Paramilitary 2?
Well, I live in Canada and I am looking to add one final knife to my collection before the knife stock becomes completely depleted because of the CBSA. I currently have a Delica 4, Benchmade Mini Grip Sheepsfoot, and a Dragonfly. I am having a hard time deciding between the Paramilitary 2 and the Pa...

Choils feel unnecessary
I feel like having choils on knives make the two available gripping positions either too close to the knife or too far back. Neither of which are too comfortable. The Delica 4 doesn't have any choil and it offers only one but excellent gripping position.
Any thoughts?

Re: Knives going out of stock in Canada?
From Blades Canada: "Unfortunately we have started to be affected by the new restrictions of importation, and we have had to raise our prices across the board in order to preserve our inventory. We understand this is frustrating, as we have worked tirelessly for years to bring you the largest s...

Re: Knives going out of stock in Canada?
sigh I got a reply from Blades Canada saying that they are being affected by the CBSA law... I can't believe my hobby is coming to an end because of something stupid like this.

PLEASE HELP I am driving myself crazy with this Sharpmaker situation
So I got my spyderco sharpmaker today and I've spent the last 7 hours trying to find out the best way to sharpen knives with it. It's 3 AM right now. I have work at 8 tomorrow. But I can't fall asleep because of this question. The problem that I am noticing is that the Spyderco sharpmaker tends to c...

Having trouble with the Spyderco Sharpmaker
I have some cheap chinese knives where the primary bevel on the blade is uneven. They tend to have larger bevel down the tip. When I try to sharpen them on my spyderco, I am having trouble hitting the edge towards the tip. I am hitting the shoulders of the larger bevel. I don't understand why this i...

Re: Spyderco Sharpmaker trouble
Nope, if your rods are straight then the angle isn't changing along it's slope. Either the bevel on your knife is not consistent or there is some operator error going on. Make sure you keep the knife perfectly vertical throughout your stroke. Some finding standing further back from the unit helps. ...

Re: Spyderco Sharpmaker trouble
I haven’t measured but I’m pretty sure the sharp maker rods are dead flat. I think you may be making an assumption about your bevels. Yes, the rods are flat but the V shaped nature of the sharpmaker leads to a different degree throughout the rod when sharpening. The angle at which the tip meets the...

Re: Knives going out of stock in Canada?
In the last month I have purchased a number of knives from Blades Canada in Vancouver BC so I have been watching there site for the last few months. They now have lots of new 2018 models which are flippers and assisted openers. For businesses I do not think that there is any issue at the present. I...

Knives going out of stock in Canada?
I've noticed that Amazon and most retailers have ran out of stock on many knives. The remaining ones have jacked up the prices.
Is this because of the new CBSA rule? Are they not able to bring any more folding knives like spydercos into Canada?

How does the peel ply carbon fiber wear on the Sage series?
Do they come off with use? I want to get the Sage 5 but I am worried that the carbon fiber peel ply will start to maybe peel off the G10? Does this happen?
