Custom Scales for Province

I really enjoy my province, and I love the shape of the handles. My only critique is the smoothness of the scales. Something with a little more grip like a canvas or linen micarta would be nice for that extra sense of security in hand. Has anybody had any luck finding custom scales for the Province?...

Re: Maple Chaparral Care

I figured it would be stabilized because of how thin the scales are. Mainly wanted to know whether I am just wasting my time oiling the scales

Maple Chaparral Care

Just received my Birdseye maple chaparral, and it is a beauty. Was wondering if anyone had information on whether this wood is stabilized or treated in any way? Would it benefit from Renaissance wax or other wood treatments like butcher’s block mineral oil from time to time to maintain its appearanc...

K390 Stretched stretch

K390 Moran would be the ultimate hunting knife. I would be partial to the trailing point

SPY27 on the stones

I have read that SPY27 was Spyderco’s idea of an updated VG10. Initial impressions in the Manix 2 LW show great response on medium stones on the Sharpmaker, touched up with the UF stones. It has a great feel on the sharpmaker approaching some of my favorites (cruwear, superblue, Hap40). It seems to ...

Re: Stretch in k390

I’ve been waiting for the stretch most of all since the announcement of the K390 Seki line. Hopefully a standard stretch. I prefer the stretch 1 but realize that it will almost certainly be a stretch 2. I have used all of the stretches for hunting, and the HAP 40 is my favorite. Can’t wait to try so...

It was decided that the K390 Endura family series will NOT be a Sprint, but regular "In-the-line" models.

Huge news. Will probably solidify the K390 stretch as my go to hunting knife for the foreseeable future

K390 Heritage ETA?

Any idea when the newest K390 Sprint series would be available? Trying to plan for holiday requests. Personally the K390 stretch is a grail that I will likely use for hunting/field dressing for the rest of my life. Delica and others will be tempting as well. Thanks in advance

Gin-1 Delica

I was lucky enough to recently snag a beautiful Gin-1 serrated Delica clipit. From what I can tell it has had little to no use over the years. I was hooked with a 3rd generation combo edge Delica in my younger years that unfortunately is the only knife I have ever lost. I am lucky to own a great exa...

Next Steel for Sprint Run

Any speculation on the next steel for the usually yearly Delica/endura/etc. sprint run? I am always up for a stretch. Would love to see something along the lines of k390

Re: Good Bye Stretch!

Finally got a chance to use the Vtoku2 this weekend while hunting. I am a huge fan of the original stretch and have it in all varieties. I will admit that I was initially sad to see the original stretch go as the ergonomics are excellent for me. However, for its intended purpose, the Stretch 2 bests...

Re: A11 Grade Question for Hunting Knife

Thanks for the replies. I know it will support a 30 degree primary bevel, but I really do prefer quick touch ups on the sharpmaker which would limit me to the 40 degree setting. I would prefer a 20-25 degree (10-12.5 DPS) primary bevel with a 30 degree (15 DPS) microbevel if anyone has experience wi...
