Re: Stolen package after warranty service

Well guys, I have to say Spyderco has once again impressed me. Not with a product or a feeling that product gives me but with the professionalism, kindness and excellence of the company itself. Spyderco is replacing the black PM2 and giving me a store credit for the lost/stolen Cruwear PM2. I've had...

Re: Stolen package after warranty service

I don't know exactly what is going to end up happening yet and I really appreciate all the information from you guys. I think it's well-intended and genuine. I'm not sure if it's indeed fact, but here is what I am sure of. Right now I'm doing just fine waiting things out and I find solace in a few v...

Re: Spyder bites

My sister lives about 8 states away, and asked for a SD option to EDC but no gun. I recommended the Civilian. She got it, liked it, and carried it. We finally make the trek out there and we are all liquored up and I remember I haven't seen her Civilian. She tells me where it is, I get it and start ...

Re: Spyder bites

Well, my fix was to put a gate to fence off the living room that I can close while I'm playing. It was such a freak accident that I don't think anyone should be worried. The fact that it opened in the process of being 'sucked' off of the table is probably rare. It scared us both, but now makes for ...

Re: Spyder bites

Ouchie! Sorry that happened, but at least chicks dig scars. Just say it happened in a knife fight or something :) For me, a couple of days ago I was fidgeting with my new T-Mag and had set it down on the coffee table/stand next to the couch I was sitting on. My dog came over for a little lovin', wi...

Re: Stolen package after warranty service

Everyone at both UPS and Spyderco has been very nice and opened an investigation into the situation. So far as I'm concerned, I feel like it's being handled correctly. Just to express my own opinion as the originator of this discussion. I don't feel entitled to invoke a right or a victimization posi...

Spyder bites

Lets hear some stories about knife accidents and talk about how you may have prevented it :D I'll start. First off, I'm not stupid but I definitely make stupid mistakes on occasion and I accept that. I feel like if you handle knives enough you will probably get cut eventually, maybe not for all of y...

Re: SharpMaker Ultra Fine Rods or Leather Strop??

I'd recommend working with the ultra fine on your more long term re-sharpening visits as a finalizing step (every 1-3 months depending on use) and then stropping for maintenance of your edge (once a day or once weekly - again, depending on use).

Re: Stolen package after warranty service

hope Spyderco has done the right thing and offered you a replacement or store credit at this point. It is their responsibility to get the package into your hands. They hired UPS to deliver it, and UPS did not get it into your hands. So what should happen is Spyderco should replace your knives, then...

We have had one of your fellow forumites step up and offer their Cruwear Para 2 to replace your lost one? We have some fine folks here. sal Wow Sal, I can't believe someone would offer that. that's incredible. I remember that posting about "Kindness of our hearts" - I can't imagine how someo...

Re: Stolen package after warranty service

Did you check with your neighbors? I've had UPS drop packages here clearly addressed to folks on my block but 1-3 houses up or down from mine and I've had them leave my packages on neighbors porches, so I think it's worth a shot. UPS website has also shown things as "delivered" when they were not, ...

Re: What's your favorite steel?

S110V, S30V, Cruwear I've rocked all of these on a PM2 and my bushcraft knife is S30V which I'm very happy with it's edge retention and corrosion resistance. I'd say it's the best all around since it's easier to sharpen. Assume I have continued rule of law I like S110V on my EDC since it keeps an ed...
