Re: The Internet of Bodies is Here

I don’t like it. As always, mankind’s technological development is far outpacing its moral/ethical development. If something can be abused, IT WILL BE. Jim I'm with you! On my desktop and my mom's desktop, I turned off Microsoft Cortana and unplugged our camera/microphone because I don't trust the ...

Frightening.
It has a lot of potential, but if you think that people have issues with privacy now wait until this becomes a reality.

Re: Martial Arts Experiences Discussion Thread

This is "todays" story on Chicago CCW holders drawing firearms, this time on people stealing cigarettes. Yes, you read that right. CCW holders can draw down on folks committing misdemeanor crimes....but whatever you do, if 4 to 5 guys are slapping, grabbing, throwing punches and kicks at Y...

I am not saying that I agree 100% with everything being said. I have not analyzed it like it's a doctoral thesis! What is being said is coming from someone with a ton of experience. Knife Fighting Lies by Marc "Animal" MacYoung http://www.nononsenseselfdefense.com/knifelies.html I highly ...

Re: About that cardboard cutting...

I cut cardboard to have something to cut, really. I could find excuses/reasons but my actual motive is to cut stuff with ma knaf. I completely understand. By the time Spring rolls around maybe I will be fit to go camping and use a bushcraft knife to start a fire. I've never done it, it does not loo...

Re: New Knife Steel Ratings by Knife Steel Nerds

Everyone has a different intended use for their knives. The tests and charts are very useful for everyone. The steel you buy and it's attributes should rest on intended use. - Some like to whittle wood. - Some cut cardboard and plastic films. - Some plan to use the knife for self defense. - Some hav...

Some of you guys/gals are in the prime of your life. Enjoy it while you can.

As for the book "Grandma Gatewood’s Walk," I'll need to buy that and try and figure out how to get back to walking long distances.

Re: About that cardboard cutting...

We have 2 cans, and a separate bin for recycling. Allegedly I can place out 4 boxes for recycling OUTSIDE of the bins. As far as I know they are not limited in size. I usually put most of the small/medium sized boxes in the recycling bin. I don't even use my knives to cut the tape on the boxes that ...

Re: New Knife Steel Ratings by Knife Steel Nerds

Spyderco has a good reputation for delivering knives with properly treated steels. I've never had a ton of money, and I don't have Larrin's expertise, so I buy Spyderco knives. I bought a few ZTs too, they seem to have a good reputation. I'd trust Buck, because the people doing their heat treat is w...

Re: Ocean Depth Comparison

The video is an excellent find. I watched it here on a large screen and fwd it to everyone that I know. I knew Lake Superior was large, and deep, but did not think that it would make it into a video such as this. It is strange but Lake Superior for all of it's vastness is being studied for rain-wate...

3 sayings that have stuck with me over the last 5 years. I've seen them hundreds of times.

- He who controls the past controls the future
- Demographics is Destiny
- To find out who is in control of the present is as easy as finding out who you may not talk about

3V's placement in the charts takes the luster off of A8 Mod.

Vanadis 8, and CPM 15V look interesting.
