Re: Rebuilding your collection from scratch

I always ask myself, if I was near an active shooter or 9/11 happened again and I was close to the epicenter of the activity would my Get Home Bag have everything required to get home alive/unscathed. If I am looking at something and it does not fit into an ideal use, I do not buy it anymore and I m...

Re: What is the first Spyderco you'd replace?

If I lost everything I'd try to buy a Spyderco Province and as many Native Chiefs as possible in new or like new condition.

I carry a Native Chief every day, and probably will even when carrying fixed blades in 2023.

Discounts for 60+? Where do I sign up for that. I'll fortunately be 63 this year, fortunate because I am alive and love being alive and seeing a new day.

Re: Please remove MAP pricing forever!

I did not respond to the poll because I have mixed feelings telling Sal what to do with his business. Sal's family have this forum and we beg them for everything. I've even asked for a larger Native Chief so I'm no exception. Some of these ideas are good, but they are the ones taking the day-to-day ...

Re: Christmas Trees: Real, artificial, none?

When growing up we had a real tree bought from a lot most of the time(25+ years). We had a guy cut down a tree once. This and most recent years, no tree, but I miss the entire adventure of getting the tree and decorating it. The largest tree I ever brought home was when I lived in an older home with...

Re: Two Advice Questions: All comments welcome

Long time no see! Hope you're here to stay. We just threw out our Calphalon pots and pans. All pan and pot coatings are dangerous because they release PFOA and PFAS , forever chemicals that give you cancer. Stainless pots and pans are the best. Makes me wonder about knife coatings now that I think o...

Re: Mr Janich - 5x5 Combat Solutions Pickpocket Question

Hey, Naperville: I have been friends with Mark Olson, owner and operator of 5x5, since 1998 and the Masters of Defense project; however, I don't have any direct involvement in his business. I know that, like Spyderco, he listens to his customers, so if enough people ask, he'll do his best to answer...

Re: Kroil for knife preserving

Thank you for replies! I will try the Renaissance Wax for long term storage, which is the best way to apply it? Can I use it after field use (blood and rain)? Or is there something better? I think the can has instructions on it, but I would apply the wax with a soft towel. If these are not collecta...

Re: Mr Janich - 5x5 Combat Solutions Pickpocket Question

Probably best contacting them directly They don't have any for humpless designs yet though I called once and left a message but I'll call again a few more times. Maybe I missed the return call. They were quick to respond to an email when they had an issue with my order (but it'd be strange if they ...

Re: Stun Gun & Pepper Spray

I suggest shooting lessons, a small but stout revolver that will take 38/357 rounds, and escrima/arnis instruction under a very good instructor so that she gets it in her head to carry a knife.

Mr Janich - 5x5 Combat Solutions Pickpocket Question

Will there be a Pickpocket Exo-ccessory for the Spyderco Native Chief in 2023?

I'll take 3!

There must be quite a few Native Chief knives out now so the market may be ready.

Re: Yellowstone and 1883.

Me and my wife were late to the party and had never watched YS, we watched one weekend marathon, that was it! She bought the box set and we got all caught up. Gotta say, for me everything on television now is completely boring after watching Yellowstone, especially since baseball is over! I complet...
