Re: Heat Wave/Heat Stroke/Heat Exhaustion: What are your advice/thoughts?

Test yourself to see what you can take. You would be surprised at what the human body can take. For decades, everywhere that I went, I was in training for, "The Big One." I did everything to test myself for decades. I went to Burning Man in 2001, and I was 41 yrs old. The event is held in Black Rock...

"Why do logical/rational arguments fail with some people?"

I've seen so much B.S. in the media and on social media over the last 3 years....

Figure that out, come up with the solution to it, and you receive the title of, "Honorary Vulcan."

Re: My PM2 is cursed!

I don't have any pictures but I have a scar on the palm of my left hand from a goofy martial arts training incident where I almost put a knife clear through my left hand. The tip did not completely pierce my hand, from the palm to the back-side of my hand. All of the tendons and muscle tissue were p...

Re: Bohler Stainless Steel

6 inch N695 for $10, with good HT? I'm not that in to N690 / N695....they are not on my list of steels that I must have. I'd buy it only if I really liked the knife profile a lot. That is how I decide to buy knives. It's the entire package. I buy knives for self defense and bushcrafting. WHAT AM I L...

Re: You Get What You Pay For: Yeah You Really Do

In almost all cases I agree you get what you pay for, but with everything there are differences in attributes that may be more important to each individual. When I wear a watch, which is not often, I wear a G-Shock. There are other watches that I like as much or more but I've never spent more than $...

Re: Let's bring the Mule back

This has been rehashed a few times, and the discussion was around a folder. I prefer a fixed blade, just like Spyderco's previous models.

I'd like to be able to get several of the models that have been discontinued, but right now I could not afford anything....between jobs unfortunately.

Re: Soft Drinks are "Poison" period> diet or regular

"Let's talk about these "poison" soft drinks and compare them to the old/original formulas." My grandmother who was months shy of 102yrs old when she passed use to drink 2 - 12oz cans of pop almost every day. She also drank Lipton tea, and would re-use her tea bags, sometimes having up to three tea ...

Is there any form of lubricant I can put on and in the folding knife's mechanism that will stay there and not wear out for years of use or they do not yet have that?
You are looking for some kind of grease / paste. Oil may be too light.

Re: Gun/Knife/Weapon bans harm women.

The document has moved. It is still on the site, but I could only find it on the front of the blog site: https://slowfacts.wordpress.com/ I've owned a lot of firearms. Sold them on my way out to CA for a job in Silicon Valley. I respect them. They are somewhat dangerous, even in the best trained han...

Re: Who Rates Lubrications?

SAE International, API, and of course there are independent labs that test and rate oils. You need a dedicated lab and 20 engineers to tell you anything. The problem is none of these orgs want to get in to what to use for "off label use." So you are stuck with whatever YOU decide to use. Marketers m...

Re: Aluminum Bat Shaped Flashlights: Good Self Defense tool or not?

Anything is better than nothing, but I don't think that is going to be too effective. It does not weigh enough. Try a MagLight with 4 D Cell batteries.

Re: Ever regretted purchasing a Spyderco model or no?

NO. Every Spyderco that I've ever purchased I cherish. I wish that I owned approx 10 more Spyderco knives. I have a large collection, 85 knives, and every knife I've ever purchased I've kept. Never sold one. Never bought one from anyone other than a retailer. I do a lot of thinking about what I want...

Right now I drive a 2019 Toyota Camry.

My most fun ride was a 2001 Suzuki GSX-R750. Top speed 187MPH and I saw that many times.

I'd say, if you want to influence anyone and cost is no object, get them in to your hobby / interest by giving them a decent starter kit.

Buy them a knife in this case.

How does this.... The NBA is ruled by tall people. People over 6ft tall. A team comprised of people less than 6ft tall cannot be fielded and win the championship. It's not about talent, it's about height. Turn in to this? I whole heartedly, 100% disagree with you. Your saying a team of 7 footers wou...
