Re: I love my bread maker

I fired off the 2nd response to this thread and then followed it from time to time. I did a little Internet research, and I'd like some responses. - Are the bread makers noisy? - I see time and time again people saying they would not buy one again based on the noise, which apparently is quite loud f...

Re: Has the Coronavirus affected your daily life?

#Masks4All In the last 24 hours, the tide has turned, and the CDC has said that they are going to change their advice. Now they approve of people wearing masks. Wear the best mask that you can buy is my suggestion. Get on board now! https://twitter.com/SenToomey/status/1244068464291176448 https://w...

Re: Has the Coronavirus affected your daily life?

The fine DR avoids infection by wearing gloves, a gown, a face shield, AND A MASK. I plan to do the same when I leave the house. But you can do you. I'll just keep doing whatever I do.

Re: Constructive COVID-19 activities....learn some new skills

Unless things rapidly change we will probably be planting a small garden for food to cut costs.

- chives
- carrots
- potatoes
- tomatoes
- green peppers

We live just outside of Chicago, same Latitude, so if you know anything else that we can plant, let me know.

Thankx!

Re: So, how are you staying busy during the lockdown?

I'm not much of a prepper or survivalist, but I try hard. I create prepper documentation for self consumption, and have been doing it all day every day since 2015. I hate to say it but from the time I get up, until the time I go to bed, I scrape news stories and watch YouTube videos on the coronavir...

Excellent suggestion. If you can provide a basket for a neighbor who is elderly, this is the time to do it.

Re: Dealing With Panic here in the USA?

My best guess is that even if this lasts 18+ months, the panic will be over in 3 months. People may not be going back to work anytime soon, but hoarding will probably stop.

Re: Dealing With Panic here in the USA?

That is why preppers prep. Everything is purchased months if not years before they are needed.

There was an earlier thread that was telling everyone to stock up a solid month before the runs on the stores. But, people who did not know better said it was "fear mongering" so they shut it down.

DRs have found that hydroxychloroquine works to defeat the virus. We need to manufacture this ASAP until we find a vaccine.

On another note, many knife makers have cancelled their appearances at knife shows, or cancelled shows altogether. The other thread was not a problem. It was full of facts. Lets hope that this thread does not get shut down too.

Re: Has the Coronavirus affected your daily life?

I moved back home after I had a heart attack in 2017. I'm 60 and have cardiovascular disease. I had a 3-way bypass and a new aortic valve put in. My mom is 80 years old. We stocked up two wire Metro shelves. We keep buying small lots of things that we need to hunker down. Spent maybe $1,500 tops. We...

Re: What's your worst "bite"

I use to DO martial arts (escrima, and arnis) 7 days a week, ranging from 1hr to 12hrs a day. One day I decided to try some moves that I made up with live blades. I probably did the moves thousands of times, but happened to be using 2 knives that were approximately 4 inches longer than normal. I alm...
