Re: Spyderco coffee mug

What lock would be used?
That decision might slow the process down a tad... :)

Re: Spyderco coffee mug

I have a pic somehwere of Sal with a blue coffee cup with golden spidies... He explained that it is a time consuming and costly exercise to do large enough numbers, or something like that, and then he has to sell them. The time is better spent designing and making steel edgewares. I would join the q...

Never owned a Cricket, but I have handled one.

A FRN version might be a good idea.
Limited sales, i am guessing, though?

Re: Updated Dive Probe / Assist Salt hybrid?

The blade would be coated in KG Gunkote, so only the edge to worry about.

Re: Updated Dive Probe / Assist Salt hybrid?

I saw one in a knife shop years ago, and I just could not afford it. Then about five years ago, I saw one for sale on the Interwebs... I had a car problem, and the sale was never completed. Somewhere along the line, I hope to get one. I have titanium and a spare UKPK blade, and Ti screws, so I might...

Serrate 420 steel and use it as a yachting knife, and it might not be too bad.

Re: AEB-L Urban Performance Reviews

At the end of the day, science does not care about one's opinion.

Science is factual.

I happen to really like AEB-L...

But I am no one of consequence, just a user... :)

And if I have to sharpen, no sweat.

I always have some abrasive with me of some type.

Re: AEB-L Urban Performance Reviews

I do not have an Urban, but other blades in AEB-L I have used have reinforced my liking it.
I need to do a really thin blade and slice and dice in the kitchen for a week or so.

Re: Let's discuss Nitrogen steels

Shackle holes in the blade might shear with enough force applied by the user, and break the blade, perhaps injuring the user? Just a guess. BTW...I am involved in HTing steel as part of my job, and stress risers are sometimes accidently included in machining products. Sometimes a piece comes out of ...

Powell Peralta skateboards have a similar logo, but the tiny hole skews it a bit.

Re: AEB-L Urban sprint issue.

The 'kick" is the lowest part of the blade, and a little by little removal of the proud bit will lower the blade tip. Use a sharpening stone or diamond grit abrasive, and go SLOWLY... Maybe three strokes, and check the closure. Repeat until you are happy. Do NOT touch the spring with any grinding ge...

Re: Heat Treatments any verification?

I am an operations assistant in a tool steel supply business that does hardness testing as part of the process. We HAVE to know that what we are heat treating, is at the requested hardness. We always test at in least two places on a single item, and sometime up to six places. That said, I would neve...

I did a Serrata with one blue G10 scale, and the other side was black canvas Micarta...called it Bruise...

Joe
The length, from memory, was around 5 inches for the blade, from the bottom of the ricasso to the tip, in a straight line.
