Re: zhyla pimps his Manix 2

Excellent work! Did you have to account for any shrinkage or other dimensional warpage from the sintering process for the cage print?

Really looking forward to this one. Flipper on washers, plus the compression lock and unique low profile flipper wheel, I'm thinking this should be a great little classy carry.

Re: So I had an Amalgam and an extra Pivot ....

Nice job ferider! Always nice to see people making knives their own. I love the idea of button actuated compression locks but I'm not 100% sold on using one yet. If one were to be implemented on an Amalgam I'd prefer reversing the lock setup to put the button on the "show" scale (assuming a right ha...

Re: Who else is getting an Ikuchi as soon as they are released?

March 9th @ IWA 2019, Eric said ball bearings again. Wuz up? @4:20 https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=297&v=9hYbOfToR2g Bummer ! Since Paul Has disassembled his production sample, I’m pretty sure it's washers. If I were Eric, traveling all over to shows, I think I'd have a hard time talkin...

Woo! Congrats Lance! I've been looking forward to getting one of these in my hands. I'm not normally a fixed blade guy, but I'm excited for this one.

Re: Clear Knife Scales

As mentioned above, if it's actually carried and used then every bit of dirt or dust it encounters is gonna get trapped in there and make it look pretty gross after a while. That being said, it does look gorgeous. Very nicely done. And I would not care. Blow it our Wash it out, Blow Peoples minds! ...

Re: Hundred Pacer - my most anticipated of 2017

I find a finger choil is not necessary with the hundred pacer because the design allows me to grip the handle with my index finger positioned right at the heel of the blade. I wouldn't mind a sharpening choil though ;) (or having the plunge grind set further back so the edge begins right at the corn...

Am I the only one who thinks it would be really fun for Murray Carter to sharpen one of his Spyderco collaboration kitchen knives on a set of Spyderco benchstones and then shave with the knife? =P

Re: Spyderco Amalgam CQI

Hey Zatx! Good looking mods! Nice job contouring the scale around the lockbar cutout. I imagine it makes lockbar access really easy. How are the ergos of the handle in use with the expanded lock cutout? The stonewashing looks quite good from what I can see. Got any pics of that stonewash finish in d...

Thanks Reference_Sensor! Definitely let me know how you like it when you get it in hand, and keep us posted on how it holds up in your work =). I'm curious how the bearing pivot will do with dust and sand.

Re: My new Manix 2!

I love the Manix. It is such a great design. I got the standard G10 version, the lightweight, the CPM154/S90V sprint, and the backlock. I think it's the knife model I have the most variants of in my collection because I like it so much. The ergonomics on the handle are fantastic, and IMO even more s...

Re: Second Time Around Possibilities?

I think there were still some of the second issue Starmates available new when I got into knives and learned about Spyderco, but then I kept reading about unfavorable comparisons of the second issue Starmates qualitywise vs the original Starmates, so I never got one. Kind of regret it because I like...
