Don't get me wrong, the Byrd is not lacking. It's just not a Native, that's all. They are different so it is not a substitute for a Chief.

I want a native chiev so bad that I'll ...

If Spyderco does not make one, I'm going to make one myself. :D That Byrd is NOT a substitute for a full size native. There is a large and a small version of just about every mainstream design Spyderco has produced, other than the Native. There really is no excuse for never ever (even LE) making a f...

I love mine, it's S30V

Here is my humble submission. It is wonderfully light, rigid, and grippy.

It also looks good and cuts GREAT.

Thank you, good Doctor!

Hannibal, I have to say that the Tasman is everything you said in your review, and more. On the way back from my parents in law I stopped in at Newgraham and picked up a yellow SE Tasman Salt and a matching yellow Surefire G2. The go great together and if you did not know better you would think they...

That is really cool Deacon.

What is the inlay material on the blue and green one? It's the one just below the closed one at 3:00.

Beautiful collection!

I like the dent on some knives but no way should it be on all lockbacks.

A dent on a Kiwi would be stupid. A dent on a Pacific Salt needs to be there. Drawing a line somewhere in the middle is where things get difficult.

Peel Ply CF for me, please

My first CF spydie was a Police model, fully serrated. While it was a pretty knife, it was as though the handles were made of glass. I sold it because it seemed like the only thing is was good for was looking at. It was heavy, slippery, and fragile. I am not interested in having any other knife with...

Names aside, what does everyone feel about the design of it? Blade steel could be the same used on the other Byrds(the one with so many numbers and letters I can't remember it) What kind of blade shape? I'd shy away from spearpoint because the Spyderfly and Smallfly have that covered. Handle design...

Brilliant!

This seems like a great idea, and doing it as a kit seems like a good way to go. I can imagine lots of customizing possibilities along the lines of the Typhoon kit but in the price range of the other Byrds.

I had started to think that this actually WAS going to be an April 1 joke, but guess not. What the heck kind announcement needs to be delayed due to needing to be sure everything is right first?!? I always try to handle a knife before buying it, but I understand that is not possible for folks who can only purchase over the internet. The three exemptions for me with this rule are Chris Reeve knives, Victorinox, and Queen slip joints purchased from cumberlandknifeworks.com. Everything else is a...

small things, handy things

I was playing around with my camera this afternoon and took a picture of these three small, nice, and exceptionally functional things that I think go together nicely. The knife is of course a SS SE Cricket. The lanyard has two beads made with extreme glow incorperated into grey and black paracord. T...

Got mine yesterday, 015V to be specific. Sharp as any new knife I have ever owned, flawless construction with perfect lockup and centered blade, and the peel ply carbon fiber is fantastic. There are still a few out there, at least for today, so go grab one if you can. Chris http://216.77.188....
