Re: Spyderco Smock Custom Wood Handles

So, are you doing these anymore?

Really lovely work and I'm not enjoying my Smock in G-fiber

Re: Para 2 with button lock release..

Love it, but I’d much prefer it on an Emphasis with Magnacut blade.

Re: 3D files of blade shapes for accessory products

Sumdumguy and Sharp Guy Thank you both for your responses. I get (now) that each blade is different. I didn't understand that the process was to manually grind each blade down. My intention was to use the tiny shoulders left from that grind as an anchor for the thumb assist. This won't be possible t...

Re: 3D files of blade shapes for accessory products

What?? Respectfully, anyone wanting to copy a Spyderco blade has a 3d scanner and wouldn't spend 5 minutes talking about it. Guessing and printing things that don't quite fit is the costly process I don't want to engage in. If it were rubber or epoxy, then I would take a silicone mold and be done. S...

Re: 3D files of blade shapes for accessory products

I actually just like using it in general. Makes opening really easy. I want to print these without a lot of wasteful back and forth. There’s a nice spot where the grind leaves a sharp angle to allow my thumb-assist to sit securely. Isn’t there a 3d file of the blade somewhere in Spyderco?

Re: 3D files of blade shapes for accessory products

Thanks for the interest. Here's a photo of my kydex version. The thumb assist is unobtrusive but makes a huge difference in ease of opening, especially with gloves! https://massdrop-s3.imgix.net/img_comment/JSFHLFcDSKG1use6aFQS_9C56B76805BE4E71950F63FEBA852B0F.jpeg?auto=format&fm=jpg&fit=max...

3D files of blade shapes for accessory products

Hi! Does anyone have a 3d file of the PM2 blade? I made a plastic thumb-assist for my PM2 and I would really like to make them using a 3D printer because that can be done in carbon fiber and would be much more useful. I have tried to wing it with calipers but the results are not great. My thumb-assi...

Re: Official Sliverax Discussion Thread

anyone find either a pattern to do 3d milling myself, or a supplier of custom scales for this awesome knife? Carbon/G10 is nice, but I want to make one with natural micarta and don't have the setup to do it right myself. Also looking for flat screws like the PM2 has. and what about a sprint run with...

Re: Hey Sal, here's my Sliverax proposal..

Having one of my designs selected to be a forum knife would be a real honor; the forum is how I got started designing knives and got connected to Spyderco R&D in the first place. ...and I’d definitely be up for either M4 or M390 :D - Paul sign me up for an M390 (even though I'd prefer LC200n be...
