Re: Para 3

I have the exact same problem on the para 3. I had to decide between blade play with drop shut, or tight as **** with no play. I went with no play and am hoping it'll break in more. Trust me, it will. I went with 0.5mm blade play for a week. then tightened it up. now both sides are as tight as can ...

Re: Para 3

My PM2 was like that, it was stiff. so i loosened it one one side, and played with the lock for a few days. i ended up gradually tightening the pivot screw which i had loosened. i then tightened up the other side's pivot screw. now they're both tight, and the blade swings free and smooth when the co...

Re: What do Spyderco’s Distributor’s do?

I'm ordering from a shop in Singapore that purchases them directly from the USA, despite Singapore having a registered distributor (even on Spyderco's website, they're listed). The shop operator says it's more cost effective for he himself to source them from a USA distributor.. Spyderco needs to st...

Re: Got my Para Military 2!

Very good choice! The PM2 is great, the black/satin S30V version was my first Spyderco ever. As opposed to some i do love the fine tip and never managed to break the ones on my PM2s. What i did manage though, was to slice my pants while whittling :-D there was absolutely no resistance from the clot...

Re: Got my Para Military 2!

Beautiful! Might be the best utility folder ever made imo. I just got 2 para 3's, and they are wonderful. I still would like to try pm1&2. Thanks for the pics, I love seeing knives being used. Yeah man, it's a good fidgeter as well, gotta love that Compression Lock. How are the Para 3's? they l...

Re: Which spyderco is in the mail?

Officially, a Blue Endura 4 plain edge is on the way from the USA to a dealer in Singapore! the dealer will then ship it to Brunei! i should have it in the middle of March.

In the same order, my good friend is ordering an Orange Endura 4 plain edge as well. We are two Spyderco enthusiasts :P

Got my Para Military 2!

My friend got me this awesome knife from a diving shop in Singapore, and i'm pretty sure it's the 4th Spyderco in Brunei (one of my friends has an Ambitious, i have a Tenacious, another friend has a Manix 2 Lightweight). It's so awesome, sharp, and the standard which i judge all other folding knives...

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

I took my Delica out for the last time today. It doesn't excite me anymore, so I'm gifting it to my brother as his first locking folding knife in decades. Currently, his only folder is a Svord Peasant, so this'll be a big change for him. do you mind if i ask why the delica doesn't excite you anymor...

Re: Which spyderco is in the mail?

a friend and i may be buying VG-10 Endura 4's soon. Should i pick up a Delica as well? The Spyderco Trinity - the Dragonfly2, the Delica 4 and the Endura 4 Each one is as special as the others in its own way. In VG10 they are very good in ZDP-189 they are exceptional. If you carry those three knive...

Re: Which spyderco is in the mail?

Oh no order number three in only a months time. This time both are for me (as opposed to gifts) an Endura 4 in ZDP 189 (C10PGRE) and a Manix 2 in fine texture thick black G10 (no liners) with CPM S30V steel with a mid back lock (C101MBGP2). Oh boy can't wait. Man let me know how that endura 4 fares...

I use that for the blade itself.

is it good for the pivot? food safe?

I mean, we rub baby oil onto babies and they always end up sticking things in their mouths

Re: Blown away by Sharpmaker

Nick and I are big KME fans (last he said on YouTube). The Sharpmaker is great for maintaining a sweet edge, for sure. Yup, the KME is great for reprofiling or rehabbing a deeply dull knife, but if I get something in or realize a favorite is dull and just needs to be stupid sharp *now*, the Sharpma...

Re: Lanyard Users Poll

I always liked lanyards on knives, along with the pocket clip (it's too useful to not use).
Getting into knives, makes me get into lanyards. It's making me want to learn all kinds of knots for lanyards/fobs and such!

I think I will give this a shot.

I want my knives to be relatively food-safe, and the 3 in 1 oil smell lasts too long and smells...interesting.

Thanks, Vivi

Re: Breaking in new knife

Any decent light oil will work fine. WD40 is NOT a good lubricant, especially long term, regardless of their marketing hype. You will see many discussions here about the "best" lube, but you gotta remember, we are *enthusiasts* ... we must discuss all aspects, all the time, but in reality...

(Edited for sprelling) That's funny. (Sorry, don't mean to make fun of you :) ) Gerard No worries! It's on purpose... I've seen sal do this type of thing in edit notes many times, obviously on purpose, so it a hat-tip to that, because I enjoy them as "Easter eggs", too. This forum lacks ‘...
