Re: KC Exclusive Shaman Rosewood REX 45
I love wood but this looks like some cheap plywood to me. Not a fan.

Re: Knifejoy Exclusive Para Military 2
Nice color!
But i'll wait for it in a Para 3. I also second the comments that LC200N would have been (much) nicer.

Re: K390 PM2 | Testing
I like mine to stay shaving sharp, so the working edge characteristics aren't as important. I like super sharp fine edge holding too and most people here seem to prefer that. Cruwear is king at that and it's no wonder that that steel is so popular right now. Maybe Maxamet or K390 at higher HRC woul...

Re: K390 PM2 | Testing
Good chance that REX45 will outperform this due to the higher hardness... I was actually wondering about this and what experienced users of both steels have seen. I don't cut enough to have noticed any difference, and the only K390 I have is a lightly used Urban. I'm guessing 65-66 hrc Rex 45 would...

Re: Still wishing for a Chaparral XL / Endela "thin edition" / or something along that lines
No doubt about it, though; a 2mm Endela will outperform a 3mm Endela. For some metrics of performance, not for all. ;) (I'd prefer a BBL or maybe the Stop Lock or frame-compression-lock to a backlock, but hey, I carried a thinned-out Caly 3.5 today so I'm susceptible to thin backlocks too.) If one ...

Re: K390 PM2 | Testing
Always enjoy reading your posts Shawn. Good stuff. Do you know the HRC of that PM2? I'll add that later, jcoolg19/Kurt tested one on YouTube to 63rc. I'll test mine when I get the time. Hmm 63 HRC seems a bit soft no? Think the police 4 K390 were like 65-66 HRC. Was expecting these to be in that ba...

Re: Still wishing for a Chaparral XL / Endela "thin edition" / or something along that lines
YES PLEASE! I love my Chaparral and i wouldn't mind getting a bigger brother. I prefer the thin blade stock to all my other folders. I never have the need for a thick blade, while a thin blade increases performance a lot. Thick is also more annoying to sharpen and keep thin behind the edge. I'd prob...

Re: Let's discuss cheaper base models
Just like with other (luxury) products the makers will just charge a price that the market will bear and there is often little relationship to the production/material costs. The amount of steel used for 1 pocket knife is so small that it doesn't change the price much. Companies in any industry will ...

Re: Compression Lock Military 2 Steel Poll
They don't need a poll to know a Compression Lock Military Salt in LC200N is a slam dunk. And again, and I don't see them doing a non-salt LC200N knife as most people at this point associate LC200N with Salt and they would likely have people complaining about rusty liners. If you are neglecting you...

Re: Military 2. What exactly is going on?
I badly cut myself with one when I was a youngster and haven't used one since. I do enjoy the Mantra though. It has the flipper tab that acts as a kick on a backlock. Unless there's a block to keep the blade away from it, I don't want my finger anywhere near a blade that cuts on contact. I almost b...

Re: Compression Lock Military 2 Steel Poll
I am supporting LC200N too. So i just won't be voting on this poll with the current options. Not even an "other" option in it. If you look at what price they can make the Caribbean in LC200N (and full salt) vs the stock S30V Military. I think it is really affordable stuff. I'd also say tha...

Re: Military 2. What exactly is going on?
Just like Evil D mentioned i think an open back design is the best for the millie. I also think the liner lock is great for operation with gloves. Now the compression lock we are all used to is operated from the back of the knife. But can´t we mate the liner lock with the compression lock and have i...

Re: Military 2. What exactly is going on?
I'm open to steel suggestions for a regular production Millie 2. sal I think you should make both the Police and Military standard production models full on Salt models in LC200N. If not the standard version then at least variants. LC has been great for me and it would be a great steel for a servic...

Re: I wonder if you guys would be interested in a Lil' Para3
No. I prefer thin blade stock on a knife that is smaller than the Para 3 and that is not really possible with a compression (or frame) lock because it needs some blade thickness for a ramp. For smaller knives a lock back is the best solution in my opinion. Maybe a CBBL from the Manix 2 would be nice...

Re: Micarta Shaman 2nd Sprint Run
Darn missing 3v and 4v Interesting pd1 over 100 cuts more than cruwear. Thought people said they're the same. I’m no expert, and haven’t looked much into this, but I’m pretty sure “Cruwear” and “CPM-Cruwear” are two different steels. So, you think the spyderco used cruwear and not cpm cruwear for t...

Re: Spyderedged Blades: A Total Mis-Understanding Maybe?
I didn't think the edge would benefit from the reduced teeth of sharpening. I'm not too experienced with serrations, so thanks for your insights Lance and Vivi. Think i'll have to look into getting some serrated blade for my edc in the future. I'm not totally sold on the H1 steel yet though. Think i...

And shipping 5x for international customers compared to other US vendors. So no thanks BBS.
K390 would be nice though. But even then i'm not sure if i'd get it. I am pretty well set with the CTS 204P and REX 45 Military.

Re: Spyderedged Blades: A Total Mis-Understanding Maybe?
The thing that bugs me with a serrated edge is that when you sharpen them on the corner of a stone (or the sharpmaker) you are slowly going to round off your pointy teeth. And the spyderedge would need several different shaped stones/rods to properly sharpen the serrations. But i do see the appeal o...
