Re: Damasteel blade for under $75?!

That's a beautiful piece of steel Chad!

Whew, but expensive.
I'd love to see the finished product, when you're done with it.

Re: What's your favorite Spyderco that's a little bit of a "hidden gem?"

One Spyderco I own and like, that does not seem to get much fanfare, is the Advocate. Yes, it's a little pricey, but you are getting what amounts to a custom made knife IMO. Mine has always been a perfect example of flawless fit and finish. Never had a single problem with it. I think all the bad pub...

Re: Spyderco's Upcoming New Folder? Stretch Lc200N with FRN Navy Blue Scales?

Hmm.. maybe. I have a Rescue 3 (similar in handle shape to the Stretch I believe), and while I haven't used it much, the ergonomics seem a tad cramped for my XL hand. On the other hand I still need to try out LC200N, and I really like the Navy blue FRN idea. Sure, if it's $100 or less, I'd probably ...

LC200N would be an awesome steel for this version of the Ikuchi. For the handle scales, keeping the steak knife theme but preserving the waterproof angle, I’d go for teak wood.

Now we just need a big dealer/distributor to make an exclusive like this happen...

This would be fantastic!

Dragonfly today. I took the plunge and ordered the h1 version, my first salt knife. Hope it is as cool as they say...I may get a native salt sooner or later if I like it...

The Salt knives are great! Did you get the plain edge or serrated?

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

Yeah I like this knife too much to sell my user. :) My Maxamet Native has been my go to Native 5 LW lately. I still love my trusty black/S35VN version but I've been impressed by how Maxamet takes an edge and keeps it. Same here. For some reason, I have been having trouble getting a really keen edge...

Nice trio Maxmet Native in grey? Yes sir! I thought I saw you post something about thinking of selling that knife? Nice to see you chose not to, as you have always seemed to enjoy it! I had doubles, actually. The one I sold was one I had bought sort of accidentally (made a low offer on ebay and was...

Re: H1

I decided I'm going to pull the trigger on a PE Dragonfly Salt today. When it gets here, would you guys be interested in me doing a post documenting how the edge of the H1 wears during my day to day life like tonijedi's post? I would be very interested. Actually this thread (and tonijedi's) is star...

I keep seeing these knives... what is the make and model of your “other”? It's a Boye Cobalt Folder made by Boye Knives: https://www.boyeknives.com/ Mine is the pointed tip model with marlinspike. In case you're interested, here's a thread I created awhile back about it: https://forum.spyderco.com/...

Re: Ask me your fitness questions

Thanks Rick! Yeah I've done "wrist roll-ups" before. They will burn your forearms out all right! I have a couple books by John Brookfield - Mastery of Hand Strength, and The Gripmaster's Manual. He's got lots of great info and exercises in there for building hand/wrist strength. I would rank John as...

Re: Ask me your fitness questions

Tvenuto, have you done much in the way of grip and wrist strength training? If so, what kind of training do you do?

The desire for grip strength is what got me into strength training in general.
