Re: I tried so hard...

Does sound like a Mini Bugout fits the bill better than any current Spyderco. I think it's a good choice, and may lead to better things. ;)

Re: 1000 year old Cr steel found

Really interesting stuff. Too bad about the blades turning out brittle, making them unpopular. If they'd had purer steel, I bet stainless steel wouldn't have been lost for the next thousand years. I'm picturing ancient knife nuts; "Well, I got this new Persian steel knife, but the edge keeps chippi...

Re: What Are You Reading ?

Finished Witness by Whittaker Chambers. Very good read. He died in the early 60's, at the height of the Cold War, and thus, sadly, did not live to see the decline of Communism and eventual defeat of the Soviet Union. Also finished rereading Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton. It is definitely my favo...

Re: 3/4 of 2020 are almost passed...

I sold more than I bought this year. I've become a lot more careful and choosy about what I buy. I'm still a steel nerd, but I also recognize that most steels are more similar for my uses than they are different.

Another day with the Delica...feels weird saying that. Pairs well with the SE Wharnie version (that I totally forgot to grab this morning)
You planning on putting aftermarket scales on that Delica?

Re: Discontinued List 2021 Speculation Thread

I'm guessing the ZDP189 Seki lineup will be disco'd with K390 taking it's place I agree and I am thinking S110V and the Maxamet LW models will go the same way with SPY27 coming out. Gotta make room. Nothing to say that S110V can't be used in future sprints and exclusives if the market demand is the...

Guys I'll be honest - this knife has been making it hard for me to carry any Spyderco's lately.

Best machete I've ever owned, by far. I was using it to fruit ninja some overripe watermelons from our garden. :D

Re: DLT Trading: will we see a OD/TiCN Cruwear Endura?

^Good questions.

I will add that I think this combo would also have a lot of appeal with gun guys, too. There would probably be a wider interest in this particular steel/color combo than in previous Endura versions.

Re: DLT Trading: will we see a OD/TiCN Cruwear Endura?

Its been discussed, the Endura sells significantly slower than the Delica, which in turn sells significantly slower than the Manix 2/Para 2 class of exclusive knives. It makes it hard to give the green light to a batch of the quantity we usually order. Personally I'd love to see it, I really like t...

I'd seriously buy a half dozen of these. This is my actual grail knife. Really hope this happens!
Right? I've yet to try an Endura, but the size is right about in my preferred range. It's a great color combo and you can't complain about the steel either. ;)

DLT Trading: will we see a OD/TiCN Cruwear Endura?

Who's with me on this?

I haven't bought any new knives for awhile now.

But an OD green FRN, TiCN coated CPM CRUWEAR blade Endura modeled off the recent Delica would break the spell. I would buy one instantly!

DLT, please tell us that an Endura is coming soon!

Re: Spyderco CQI Military washers size

Okay Alex

Phosphor bronze pivot washers:
Thickness: 0.26mm or 0.010"
OD: 12.72mm or 0.500"
ID: 5.84mm or 0.230"

Standoff:
Diameter: 5.07mm or 0.200"
Length: 4.23mm or 0.166"

Hope this helps. Let me know if you need any more measurements, while I have the knife disassembled.

Re: Spyderco Army Knife

Thanx for the memory trip. Eric, Gail and I have great respect for Leatherman and Victorinox. I pushed to get both of them into the Cutlery Hall of Fame. In fact, we look to Victorinox as kind of a mentor having kept the company alive and growing for so many years. The SpydeRench was a very effecti...

Re: Spyderco CQI Military washers size

It didn't occur to me that they even changed? Is the diameter of the pivot different or did they just switch to a double screw bushing? To be honest I don't know whether the are changed or not, but I'm almost sure the are. I don't have the older pre-CQI Millies to compare in person. I just want to ...
