Re: How did you get interested in Spyderco knive
I was knife dealer at the time of the First Gulf War. I received a hurry order from a USMC unit for Spyderco Enduras. I called the company, explained the situation, and sold the knives at cost. When the Marines described how they were using and abusing the knife (like puncturing 50 gallon drums), I ...

Re: Paramilitary 1 Enthusiasts?
I know this posting is a couple of years later. I have a box of Spydercos and i was looking for a second Spyderco Endura, plain edge. I carry a modified 1st generation unit. I knew, vaguely, that I had an original, unused paramilitary and I found it. If I had not seen the pictures in the thread, I w...

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
In my pocket today? Old Police model. Fully serrated. Recently, I have shifted from carrying an original/modified plain edge Endura. I have to go to my box of Spydercos as I want to find an original Paramilitary and compare it to an early Police model.

Re: Early model Endura pivot point/disassembly
1. Thank you all for the suggestions. Yes it is pinned.
2. I tried the hot water/soap routine. Now I will try what I call the baking soda/vinegar/salt routine. Usually, I do an isopropyl dip with flattened q-tips. The hot water/liquid soap approach got out some more dirt.

Early model Endura pivot point/disassembly
I have an early model Endura. I think that there is some crude on the pivot point and I want to loosen the screw near the pivot point. Please note that the model does not have a screw head on either side of the pinned screws. This means it is not like later model Enduras wherein you can use proper s...

Adjust pined endura pivot
I have a number of Enduras going back to the time of the First Gulf War. One knife is a bit difficult to open. For want of a better description, there are no screws to tighten or loosen. The pivot pin is pinned like the other pins. Is there a way of taking out the pined pivot, lubricating and reasse...

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
Spyderco Endura plain edge. I explain. It is Saturday and I went to the grocery store. I restored the TSA confiscated knife yesterday. Normally, it will be a plain edge in the pocket, fully serrated in the briefcase within a Benchmade bidirectional sheath, a partially serrated within a Benchmade bid...

Re: Why the Endura beats the Military
1. thank you for all of the information. 2. I first learned about Spyderco at the time of the First Gulf War when a USMC unit ordered a pile of Enduras from me. Their response to my observation that there were more stout knives to cut open 50 gallon barrels was that their approach was to use them ev...

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
Today is January 17, 2018. A used Endura fully serrated without a clip. Why? I don't wear jeans. I wear athletic wear (it was in the 70s today where I live). A clip is useless. I do keep another Endura in the car on the driver's side under the floor mat. And, I still have the first Endura I purchase...

Re: What Did you Get Yourself for Christmas?
Background: Many years ago, I was a dealer and was introduced to the Endura model. I have decided to change my EDC knife to the fully serrated Endura model. Accordingly, I picked up a few used Enduras and sharpened them within a minute or two each. This is how you do it without spending h...
