Very interesting read. I have both the Byrd hawkbill as well as a Dragonfly salt with a hawkbill blade. Though I like both a lot, the Byrd does get carried more often. It's my yard knife and it really does excel at that.

Glad to see some more pictures here of the Byrd hawkbill. It still is my favourite yard workhorse. Lot sof fibrous materials so no plain edge knife comes close.

Before that it cut up a bunch of pumpkin flesh to go into the freezer. Cooked or raw? I just used my stainless Delica to cut open a pumpkin that I roasted whole so I could scoop out the goods and puree it for all kinds of good stuff! :) Raw. Used a Becker to get inside and to divide it into 8 piece...
