VG-10 works for me, but I gotta be honest, my use case for this knife involves a fair amount of exposure to wet and salty conditions. So K390 isn't my best choice. Maybe I'll go for VG-10 SE for now and hope for a Magnacut SE in the future. In either case I wish the handle were just a scosche longe...

Oh my gosh! I had no idea how many fake Spydies are out there! I remember this being a thing when I was researching my Vallatton.

Thanks for clearing it up Sal! Also, does the spring assembly from a Autonomy fit the new model? Yes, the spring assembly from the orange Autonomy with the chrome replacement pivot screw will work with the Autonomy 2. I just ordered a kit from SFO. Wait what? They sell the assembly? They do indeed....

I usually press the button and once the blade starts to close I release it. I just put oil on the pivot. Mine has been fine for the past 3 and a half years.

Same here. Mine has been flawlessly dependable all these years.
