Re: Why did you join?

Hi, I’d lurked for a while following discussions and then had questions of my own.
I stayed because of the people.
I learn something new every time I check in. Sharpening ,metallurgy, ergonomics, history and the ‘industry’ . It’s all here.
Thank you Sal for making it possible.

Re: Reveal 7 Live!

This is the best reveal so far, for me anyway. Although my wallet may disagree.
Dragoncliffe k390, UKPK, Stretch, lil’ Native.
Not forgetting the new understated Roadies, at first glance I thought they were micarta.
Thanks Spyderco. :)

Re: Polestar/Alcyone still "just" in BD1 (without "N")?

I think that slow sales of the original versions and the shipping steel to China part of the cost equation are probably the limiting factors.
The Rock/Leaf Jumper may ultimately fill this niche as the handle ergonomics look similar.
Although they are backlocks.

I hadn’t realised there had been an FRN version of the cricket.

Re: Spyder Classics: The C-54 Calypso ( the big one)

I arrived late to the Spyderco party unfortunately and missed out on a lot of the classics. I can still remember seeing the C-54 for the first time and the disappointment in finding out they were no longer in production. It is a quintessential Spydie for me , in that I judge all other models by this...

Re: Extreme LC200N (Accidental) Corrosion Test

If the liners are LC200 , wasn’t there something about LC not coping well with Sulphur.
This was when the detention balls were changed out for ceramic. Maybe there was a trace in the mud/slurry?

Re: Roadie with teeth?

I was reading the XL Roadie discussion last night and was thinking to myself, why is there no serrated Roadie? And today.... I would definitely be interested in this. The serrated blade on the Clipitool PE + SE was my introduction to Spyderco’s SE and is similar in shape and pretty much the s...

Re: Fairly comprehensive list of Spyderos in movies, tv shows, etc

Gotham series 2 episode 10, The son of Gotham. ‘Tom’ kidnaps Bruce And Silver.
Later, @ approx 20 minutes, before he takes Bruce away to torture him he pulls out what looks like a SS PE Police 2.

I would be happy with either. But would prefer the UKPK if there were only one model made.
