Re: Compression Lock Military 2 Steel Poll

I would love an LC200N Salt version, but I made the assumption that they aren't going to come out of the gate with this. This poll is for an S30V alternative for a non-Salt debut. I left S30V on there in case people want to keep it BAU. I don't know what BAU is. If we're going for a soldier's knife...

Re: Compression Lock Military 2 Steel Poll

Replaced CTS-XHP with CPM-154 since there were no votes for the former and a few mentions for the latter. You can change your vote as many times as you want.

Re: Military 2. What exactly is going on?

I think a tough steel is best for the military’s fine tip and thin geometry. I would love to see a debut in cruwear, or d2. Why D2 or CruWear? According to Larrin's data, there are significantly tougher steels at similar hardness - https://knifesteelnerds.com/toughness-database/. That is ingot Cruw...

Re: Compression Lock Military 2 Steel Poll

Sal said he was open for steel suggestions as an alternative to S30V for the initial release of a possible Compression Lock Military 2. So suggest away!! You left out what's probably the best steel for this application - LC200N. It's tougher than Cru-Wear, it's easier to sharpen, and it's extremely...

Re: Compression Lock Military 2 Steel Poll

I selfishly voted for 4v just because i haven’t had a chance to try it. I think the best bets for making the highest number of buyers happy (not just us steel snobs) would be 20cv or s45vn. Edit: switched my vote to 20cv. I also feel like s45vn should be in the poll. Given that it is a new steel an...

Re: Shaman Cru-Wear Sprint Run release ?

I too did not receive the word that I snagged one......I will say though, here and on BF's I have not heard anyone celebrate. I'm a little surprised. I'd be interested to see how many entries DLT and BHQ received. I'd also be interested to know how many people gamed the system with 10s or 100s of e...

Re: Military 2. What exactly is going on?

I'm definitely not opposed to a Military 2 Salt in LC200N. One in Micarta handles would be stellar as Micarta's grippiness increases when wet.

Re: Military 2. What exactly is going on?

I'm open to steel suggestions for a regular production Millie 2. sal Sal, I think that the market is saturated with S30V. In a knife at this price point, I think a higher end steel, or a different base stainless steel, would help sales tremendously. A change in handle material and/or color as stand...

Re: Delica 4 Glow-In-The-Dark FRN

REC posted these on Instagram and already sold out. https://riversedgecutlery.com/products/spyderco-delica-4-glow-in-the-dark-distributor-exclusive.html It seems like they always let their VIP customers (and probably employees) "reserve" sprints ahead of time. Guess I will keep my eyes out elsewhere.

Seems like a good one roll out in OD Green Cru-carta rather than testing the waters with more black/s30V. I'll be first in line for the former and pass on the latter while I wait for a sprint of the former. ;)

Re: Micarta Shaman 2nd Sprint Run

Steelcity16 - I know you feel very strongly about micarta and tougher steel combos (we should call you 3vsteelcity16 at this point :D ) - but I'm really not sure in the grand scheme of things how popular they really are - especially outside of forums like this on I also noticed how collectors are a...

Re: Micarta Shaman 2nd Sprint Run

I know lots of folks like the hassle and chase of sprints, but why not just make the Micarta and [high end steel] Shaman a regular production knife, like the S110V/Blurple ones. Demand is clearly through the roof, and it seems silly to keep a great material and great tool away from people who might...

Re: CS Para 3s

I wish they would have done the Native LW and Manix LW in CTS-XHP instead of S90V. I would have been all over DLC versions of both of those.
