Know what you mean about those All in One type of printers. Just picked up a HP1600 for around $100 US, very happy with it. I use it to make copies more than I do to print.

Was the blade steel mentioned? There seems to be a sad trend toward great designs with marginal or poor steels like AUS-8 & 6.

Seriously Scotch,

We knife and gun owners are constantly fighting for our rights. Actions, such as yours, are just more fuel for those who would take those rights from us. Not that big a deal? The buses are 20 yrs old? I'm only 19? Son, it is a big deal, if treated well those buses would look great ...

I'll second that motion and suggest the same for the Delica. However, I'd really like to see some D2.

Interesting comments on adjusting out the play, particularly bob7's specific comment of vertical play. Bob7, can you describe the adjustment you made in detail please? I have a Salsa with the same problem.

Caustic

Dishwasher cleaner is pretty caustic. I have seen it rust SS and etch glass over time. If it is caustic enough to etch glass plates, it will eventually etch a knife blade.

A better alternative is to use a WaterPik dental device. It really blasts the dirt out of the tight spaces and you can use ...

Micarta

I would agree G-10 or FRN make good heavy use handles and shrug off damage or moisture.

Micarta is almost as tough and looks a lot better, at least to my eye. Micarta is generally a stack of linen or canvas impregnated with a hard resin. It has some interesting properties in that when dry it feels ...

Vertical Play In Compression Locks

My experience with the compression lock on a EDC Salsa has become a show stopper. It functions well and opens easily, however, it has developed vertical play. I believe it is the nature of the design to develop vertical play due to wear from opening and closing. My guess is the wear reduces the ...

Easy no, doable yes

Hello Margoc,

I generally close it 2 handed, but if my weak hand is tied up holding a package, etc., I do close it one handed. Here is what works for me.

1. Grip: First, grasp the ball bearing front with the thumb and forefinger. Having a little fingernail to work with helps. Second, third and ...

Good Council, Thank You

I have a second one, unused, so a comparison can be made. The unused one locks up tight as a drum. The used one now has about a millimeter of play. It gets a good bit of use as an EDC. Where I work, no knives 3" or longer are allowed. The Salsa is a perfect little/big knife for there. The concept of ...

Help For Lock Play?

After a lot of use as an EDC, my Salsa is developing vertical play in the compression lock. Though I don't think it is a safety issue, it is irritating. Has anyone else observed this? Any way to fix it? - Best, Lee

Flitz and leather do work well on a strop. I use it all the time. Suspect it will work well on the leather lace idea.
