Re: Your favorite Spyderco for fidgeting?
PM2 or Endura/Rescue/Salts built on the same frame. The PM2 is great to flick open - but the backlocks I tend to open and close and tumble in my hands, open with thumb, depress lock bar and flick onto finger then close, change to reverse grip, open with little finger, switch to normal edge in grip, ...

Re: If you could change dimensions/sizes on your favorite knives?
I would love a Lefty Para3 (LH Para2 is my favourite folder ever, but a little big for some settings)
I would also love a Lefty Ti ATR (although the Righty version is still pretty **** nice, I prefer the lefty comp lock)
So i wouldn't change the sizes, just prefer a mirror image version

Re: Shark in TN river and also new Aqua Lung Dive Knife: wow!
Titanium doesn't typically make good knife blades - Its too soft to hold an edge for long. it does however have some properties which are excellent (corrosion resistance, light weight) Coating one side of the cutting edge with Tungsten Carbide can make it cut well - the Ti supports a very thin layer...

Re: I feel like the only person who likes S30V in 2017
I only have a few blades in S30V, but most of my users have been VG-10 My most recent acquisition is a LH PM2 in S30V. From the little use i have put it through so far, I really like it - It feels different to VG-10, with a slightly toothier feeling edge, that seems to cut longer - but its also a bi...

Re: Big-handed people, what's your favorite smallish knife?
I have big hands, and I like the dragonfly, Cricket and Roadie.
the Roadie has been my go-to for a while now.
I am sure there is a lot of other knives, that i just haven't tried yet.
The Dodo feels great in my hands, but i never really liked the way it felt in my pocket (too "tall")

Re: Safety Netting at Sports Events
Here in Australian Football League matches there is netting behind the goals, before the game (while the teams warm up, and people take their seats) once the game starts the nets are taken down, organisers assume the crowd is watching the game, and would notice a bright yellow ball heading towards t...

Re: Warm or Cold Water: Which is technically better when you're thirsty?
I don't know which is technically better, but i prefer "room temperature water"
around 20 degrees C works well for me.
There have been days where all i had was warm (35-40 degC) water, which typically makes me feel terrible - that same temperature would probably be great if i was cold.

Re: Titanium: What do you like and dislike about it?
I like titanium. its a great metal for a bunch of stuff - knife handles, flashlights, pocket gadgets, even my belt buckle is Titanium. No worries about rusting or corrosion or allergies. I even have a Carbidised titanium knife by Daniel Fairly which works really well - the thin layer of tungsten car...

Re: Lansky dog bone sharpeners - Experiences?
I have the "multi sharpener" version
It works, but it is pretty coarse (equal or coarser than the brown SM stones)
to throw in a bag so you never have a blunt knife, it works, but given the choice i would pick a SharpMaker every single time.

Re: Pacific Salt One Year Later - A Big Surprise / Sleeper EDC Knife
I believe the serrated salts hold an edge better than the PE models, something to do with the way the edge is ground causing work hardening or something (been years since i was reading up on it)Jazz wrote:I have to ask, why do you all like the serrated model? What do you cut with them?

I always have a Roadie in my pocket.
main reason is its sheeple friendly - and i can freely use it in the warehouse without worrying the other staff.
Pretty sure they wouldn't appreciate an endura sized blade (the size i prefer to carry)

I have a Micarta Mini Dyad, that i don't use, and a Byrd Wings that i do use. I would love to see a thinned out version of the Wings - FRN, Single locking liner (or compression lock) in the middle, no outer liners. 4 way clip, old school volcano grip, VG10. I would be very happy (and would likely bu...

I have a couple of EDC knives. the Victorinox Classic on my keys is finished on white sharp maker stones - not polished, but still very sharp. the Roadie that is always in my pocket is mirror polished on the edge pro when i find time, but touched up with the sharp maker ultra fine stones in-between ...

Re: Top 10 rules for carrying pocket knives
1) Always carry a knife. 2) If you have more than one pocket, carry more than one knife. 3) A pocket is worthless unless it contains a pocket knife. 4) Treat every folding knife as if it had no lock. Your digits will thank you one day. 5) Hammers, crowbars, screwdrivers, axes, cold chisels and kniv...

Re: Takata Airbag Recall - Have Any Been Replaced Yet?
I recently got a letter from Subaru telling me that my airbag needs replacing (conveniently, only the passenger side one)
I know of a few Subaru owners on the Facebook groups i am a member of who have had theirs replaced - but no-one i have actually met face to face
