Re: CPM Rex 45 Para 2 !!

How many other people are waiting to see if their knifecenter pre order gets filled? I know the general advice has been to buy elsewhere when they drop and then either cancel with KC or keep it as a just in case. I went this route with the Vtoku Endura, but this time I thought I’d put my faith in K...

Re: Watches I'm watching

I have an Orient Mako that I wear when doing yard work. It is fairly accurate, but certainly durable. Face is not scratched. I string trim, edge, garden, etc with it on.

Re: Lock Tests from Spyderco

Bhq did some tests on locks with a wench. It's on YouTube. Pretty sure it was mostly Spyderco knives. Not official data or anything but it was a good watch.

Re: Watch purchasing advice?

I have multiple Swiss watches, and from what I can tell, the more it cost , the better the accuracy. For example, a $500 watch with a 2824 that has not been sent to a watch maker to fine tune, is not as accurate as a $1500 eta 2824 movement watch. Even farther, in house cosc and metas certified wat...

Re: Ordered my first Sebenza

I just recently handled a large Inkosi with the Insingo blade shape. Fell in love with it but just couldn't get past the thumb stud, *IF* it would have had the thumb hole I would have walked out with it and dealt with the consequences later.......very very nice knife! Just unscrew the thumbstud. It...

Re: Ordered my first Sebenza

Looking forward to hearing your impressions. I was a little disappointed in my first small 21. Probably because of the hype, but I just never really connected with it. I finally sold it after a couple of years of trying to love it. The thumb studs take some getting used to for sure. The three CRK I...

Re: Ordered my first Sebenza

It's just a preference thing, and when I'm spending $400+ I get a lot more stubborn about those preferences. Even the slightest annoyance is a turn off. For that much money it has to check ALL the boxes, not just most. I'm not going to "learn to love" a $400 knife, it has to be love at fi...

Re: Ordered my first Sebenza

My first "real" knife, so to speak, was a BM Mini Grip. Never had any issues with anything I cut where the thumb stud got in the way. I made a jack o lantern with a BM 615; thumb studs never got in the way. I can see where you are coming from though; but the half inch between the thumb stu...

Re: Ordered my first Sebenza

I just really wish they'd use a thumb hole. At this price range I can't live with a thumb stud, too expensive to compromise. It probably wouldn't work. The CRK I have would only have about 1/3 of the hole sticking up. I don't think they are made to be rapid deployers. I do like the thumb hole as we...

Re: Ordered my first Sebenza

I have a large inkosi with the insingo blade and a large sebenza with the drop point. From the factory the insingo blade was almost dull. Took 5 minutes to fix that. As for the sebenza, it was probably the sharpest knife I have ever unwrapped. Seems like it's a guessing game, but they aren't hard to...

Just out of curiosity - did you find any dirt that you wouldn't have been able to get removed without disassembly?
(Yes i am a firm believer in *not* disassembling knives in spite of the current craze..)

I've bought almost every Spyderco I have from Jeff . Best knife dealer online imo.
