Re: We need a Ronin FRN

Yeah, I'd like to see at least a Sprint Run of the original Janich/Snody design. The VG-10/linen micarta would be just fine, but since it would most-likely have to be something different, do a VG-XEOS and solid black linen micarta and I'd be more than happy with that.

Re: suggestion: non-salt seki models in Magnacut

MagnaCut seemed to be too late to the table amongst the Spydie line up, for whatever reason, as Spyderco seemed to be one of the first when it came to introducing MagnaCut to the market via the Mule?

MC is a great steel. Perhaps the absolute best, most well rounded steel, especially for EDC, with ...

Re: Updated steel for The Bow River

They've never made a model in multiple countries, as far as I know. May as well just ask for a reissue of the Sprig at that point. It was close to the same, made in Taiwan with S90V, and also designed by Phil Wilson.

Long story short:

I think Spyderco should keep the budget Bow River ...

Re: Updated steel for The Bow River

1. Why not just offer a higher-end Bow River in mass production with AEB-L, S35VN, or VG10, etc., from Seki City, Japan/China to keep the price from skyrocketing too much?

2. Then do a limited edition Bow River in Magmamax or some super-duper best-of-the-best steel for those of us who will ...

Re: Where the Heck Are the Lil' Native Lightweights?

I've been carrying a LNLW for the past couple-few weeks now. Thus far, this is my favorite iteration of the 'Native' family of knives. It has been a great little tool that I have reached for much of the time since pocketing the knife. I've taken it to hit workouts, run, work, around-the-house, and ...

Re: MT46S MagnaMax SE Testing Thread

Thanks Larrin. My reading on this seems to lead me to believe that the second "MagnaMax" heat for this Mule release was unintentionally quite a bit further out of compositional specification within the tolerances that were aimed for. Is this so, and why the composition has been redacted ...

Re: Let's talk Mule Team quantities

I might be out of topic but I think that the new website already makes it more than fair for people wanting a Mule to all get their shot at it. MagnaMax was highly anticipated but IMHO it's good that everything sold. The AEB-L Mule is a jewel and it's still available. Choosing one particular ...

Re: MT46S MagnaMax SE Testing Thread

Crucible produced two heats of MagnaMax. Spyderco used the second for the "MagnaMax" mule. The more limited "Proto X" mule used the first heat. There were some small modifications attempted between the first and the second. These were prototype heats for analysis to determine if the steel hit the ...

I like the UKPK idea a lot.
But I could also be tempted if it was a fixed blade like a coated SPY27 mule, in one of the new coatings, with red and black g10 scales similar to the pattern on the Bow River scales.
That is a bad@ss idea!

We removed the composition of the steel from the website. Larrin said that; 1) our listing did not include all of the elements, and 2) We should wait to list the composition of the steel until a formal listing in published publicly.

Just was curious to see how many put lock tite on the torx screws when mounting the handle to a mule knife. I do not, but seeing the picture at the top of the mule page on Spyderco website had me thinking.
I use it like Frank's RedHot; I put that sh!t on everything.

Re: That Metropolitan is mine !

Interesting. I didn't realize that the Metro is essentially a re-bladed SpyDK! That was one of my favorite slipjoints, and unfortunately I lost it some years back. Is this Metro ground as thin BTE as the SpyDKs were?
