Re: Forum Update/Maintenance & Move - PLEASE READ

The font size seems to be smaller as before.
I am using iOS on the phone.
On top I also have a black 1,5 inch empty space.

Re: Spyderco 50th Anniversary Knife?

40th Anniversary
Spyderco Native 5 40th Anniversary Damascus C41CF40TH Limited Edition

I think it did not sell well.

It should be a true user. Maybe coming in a package of 2. One for using and one for the safe. Not too expensive might help.

thoughts on a Spyderco Machete

Inspired by "Another run of Whale Rescue blade is needed." https://forum.spyderco.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=96242 Would be cool to see a Spyderco Machete. I have a CRKT one but only used once in the garden. My requirements: #) Good sheath (incl storage for a gauntlet diamond rod or a sma...

Thanks for the insights, Sal.
It's much appreciated.

Personally, I like the Mule.
Making it smaller yourself is a good option and done quite easy.

High-Impact Ceramic (HIC) first folder to be released

Which folder will be the first one in HIC?

(list below might be wrong as it is to my best knowledge / memory)
Spy27: Para 3 lightweight
LC200N: UKPK (edit: Native 5 lightweight is wrong)
HIC: ???

Re: Sharpening Para 3s, I can't reach the very bottom of the edge! Any advice?

I used diamond plates to form an edge all the way back to the choil.
Originally there is an unsharpened part of a few mm.

I do it mainly at my users and quite quick and dirty. With the sharpmaker you do not reach completely to the end anyways.

Re: IDENTIFY this knife

Hi and welcome.
Hope it was cheap.

I recommend a Dragonfly.
If you want something bigger a Tenacious.
And a sharpmaker to keep them sharp (including kitchen knives as well)

Sharpmaker and scissors

I noticed my kitchen scissors does not cut cling film anymore. Remembering the side slot of the Sharpmaker is made for scissors so I gave it a try. With the brown and fine rods. But a little improvement but not much. Then a few strokes on the diamonds and it cut through like a laser. The Sharpmaker ...

Re: Spyderco x Lamnia exclusive - poll

Pingo would be nice.
Chaparral as well.

NOT in all EU countries it's NOT allowed to carry a one-hand open PLUS locking folder.

Re: Dragonfly Salt 2; Sharp Holes ?

The sharp edges helps at deploying it.
I have a Spyderco with smooth edges which is more of a struggle to deploy.

I would keep the edges sharp or smoothen it only a TINY bit. Better less than more.

Re: language barriers

If you have special interests hobbies or need to solve a computer issue you will learn quickly that you find much more information in English than in e. g. German language. English is quite easy to learn, and in business very important and nowadays necessary. I am glad we lil native ;-) speakers are...

Re: FOMO or No?

My FOMO stopped as I was not allowed to purchase a new exclusive from the dealer because they do not ship internationally.
And I do not support flippers other than knives and dolphins.

This stopped the drive to get new knives.
I still buy new ones but seldom and I do not move mountains to get it.

Para 3 lightweight spy27 plus a Sharpmaker.

Perfect entry knife.
S110V is not that easy to sharpen.

Oh...BTW, people buy new Porsches and upgrade them all the time
Sure, upgrading, customizing, but not repairing.
And there are plenty of shops to do so.
I have no Spydie Performance Center nearby ;-)

Re: The Sliverax

It's not a cheap knife.
I had very bad experience to disassemble my Manix 2 and Para 3 (soft screws,..).

It must be OK out of the box.
If I buy a Porsche it must be perfect.
If I buy a Dacia it can have some minor flaws.

I had big detent issues. It was too weak. I could shake it open quite easily.

Design is great. I also liked the negative angle of the blade.

Lil native lightweight compression lock might be it.

The lil native is unfortunately too overbuilt and heavy.
