Re: Next Generation Military suggestions thread?!?!
Keep the old; add a new variant with compression lock.

Re: Which is your most useful and most used Spyderco?
I know the whole idea of the Military is to make it strong and bullet-proof, but I'd like my Militaries more for EDC, if they had the compression lock that my PM2s have. There are trade-offs, certainly, but man, I would love a compression-lock Military.

Re: Which is your most useful and most used Spyderco?
Simple, plain, S30V black handled PM2. Two years ago I'd have bet money that I would never carry a knife this big. And on weekends now, I'm happy to move up to the Military. But the PM2 is just amazingly good at most every task I put it to, from the office to the garden to the hunting camp to the fi...

Re: Blade Steels..... Does It Really Matter?
I think it matters, but it's all relative to what you personally can live with. Even as a Boy Scout, I knew that my Schrade Old Timer pocket knife couldn't stay sharp long enough to sharpen 4 or 5 hickory sticks into marshmallow roasters, but others loved those little knives. Back then, my Dad and m...

Re: Spyderco You Love with one major flaw...
PM2 -- great for nearly everything. I can't make myself carry anything else. But the blade shape is bad at spreading butter. That is all.

Re: Gentleman folder with screwdriver/bottle opener?
I could live without the screwdriver, but I've wanted a Spyderco with a bottle opener for awhile. It seems it wouldn't be much of a trick to make the Spydie circle on many of their knives, function as a cap opener, but it's probably more of a trick than I think.

Re: Para 3 vs Paramilitary 2
Before I entered the Spyderco world, most of my knives were the size of PM3s, or smaller. I bought a PM2, and abandoned most knife brands other than Spyderco. Since that first PM2 I bought a PM3, thinking it would become the perfect EDC. I'm still carrying the PM2, and have bought 2 more. I'm not in...

Re: Something new is coming soon.
What I'd like to see (and I don't think this is it) is the Gayle Bradley 1 or 2 with compression lock. There's probably something fundamentally incompatible about those two things, but a man can dream. I love my GB2. I love my PM2. I'd love to see a combination.

Re: PM2 Red G-10 M390 at DLT Trading?!?!
This forum, and its alerts, kills my bank account. I keep trying to EDC something other than my simple PM2 with S30V blade, but can't find anything I reliably like as much. But I'm trying. And now that pretty red PM2 comes along. I never had a chance. . . . .

Re: C41GPFGR5 S90V Native 5 KC Exclusive
I got mine today also. I've been carrying a PM2 for close to a year now, and have bought several other Spydercos during that year. None displaced the PM2. However, I'm loving the feel of this new Native 5 -- sized somewhere between an old Gerber FS1 and FS2, fairly light but very solid feeling, grea...

I have blade play on my PM3, straight out of the box. I haven't yet tried to figure out how to fix it, or sent it back.

Re: What's Everyone's Latest Spyderco Purchase?
Gayle Bradley 2, ordered Monday from Blade HQ, arrived today with regular shipping. Can't beat that. I've carried the PM2 since last October as an EDC, and love it. The GB2 is smaller but heavier. Feels great in the hand, looks great, smooth as silk. But I don't know if it will beat out the PM2 as a...
