Re: Might have pulled a stupid

It looks fine, although I wouldn't exactly choose eBay as my first source for purchasing knives. There's a few reputable sellers, but the rest are pretty sketchy. I've gotten 2 fake Millies and a fake Rubicon from eBay. Luckily, they weren't exactly advertised as Spyderco and were around $25 each.

Re: Saturday With My New Hawkbill

The SE on the byrd knives are far different than Spyderco knives. The serrations are more shallow, which honestly don't feel as though they work quite as well.

Re: Next Spydie Purchase

DF2 is the one to get. You're going to need one eventually anyway. If budget allows, I strongly recommend a Chaparral for these purposes. You can usually find a CF version for under $100 pretty regularly. I carried a DF2 almost everyday until I got my first Chaparral. Of course, if you want a more ...

Next Spydie Purchase

I'm looking for a relatively small knife which is capable of handling small cutting tasks, such as food prep and opening boxes, FFG preferred. I already own a Delica, LB2, Manbug, and a slightly worn Cricket, and I'm considering purchasing a new DF2. It must be able to perform pretty precise cuts, a...

Re: Para 3 and CQI

IDK, when you consider that the Native 5 G10 sells for $135 I think the Para 3 ($120) is priced accordingly. I think they're both fine knives BTW. I had purchased a Native G10 off of Amazon for somewhere around $110, and had gotten a Para 3 for $120 from Amazon as well. Not saying that it's a bad k...

Is 10mm even still practical? I'd thought .40S&W phased it out a looong time ago.

Re: Para 3 and CQI

IMHO, the Para 3 was a pretty heavily overpriced knife that didn't do anything the PM2 couldn't do a little bit better, especially considering the PM2 is just slightly more expensive. Given the choice, I'd choose the Native over the Para 3 any day.

I guess dulling my Yojimbo and rounding the tip was a waste. Oh well.

Vallotton, if you disregard its pretty insane pricetag.

I'm sure Spyderco would be willing to send you new screws for free if you do somehow strip them, or if they start to rust up (which happened to me, in the good ol' humid South).

I learned the hard way that the 0909 is NOT a folding prybar, by any means. :D But as my first ZT, it was pretty solid and I loved (almost) everything about it.

Re: Why does Spyderco not make more autos?

Hi, StuttgartMadness: We're bound by federal law so oftentimes the changes made at a state level have less of an effect than one might realize (even our own state). We also have city and county laws to abide by as well. I think this discussion is fantastic though and I look forward to seeing others...

That's what you have custom scales for! :D I knew a real kind fellow who used to create custom scales, and mailed me some every so often.

Re: Salt 2 vs Delica 4

I'm not sure if I got a fake, but the PE Salt I got off Amazon couldn't hold an edge if it had vise grips for hands. Although, I have heard that SE VG10/H1 are comparable in edge retention.

Re: Spyderco Knock-offs, "Replicas"and Fakes

I recently sent Spyderco an email with around 30-odd fake Spydie sellers. Shame they don't have some sort of international trademark agreement with China, but then again, Chinese economy thrives off of US trade. :D
