Re: Para 3 vs Sage 5

Just wondering if Para3 will have same pivot system and smooth mechanics as Para2? Sage 5 seems works a bit differently. I'm hopeful that it will have the same pivot system and enjoys the same action as most PM2s. My Sage 5 is a nice knife all around but the stiff action makes the compression lock ...

Re: Para 3 Defect?

You know, it just occurred to me that subjecting a folding cutting tool to a spine wack "test", just to see if the lock can hold up to the abuse,...is akin to driving your new car into a tree just to see if the bumper can hold up! Instead, save the tree,.... and wack yourself in the head 3...

Re: Para 3 Defect?

Dear chaoticdefect65 and all: Thank you very much for your post. Your knife is not defective. After I read your post this morning, I spoke to our manufacturing manager and chief engineer. They confirmed that the machined "step" was a purposeful in-line change in the design; however, both ...

Re: What are the chances of an M4 Native 5?

Just curious if anyone heard any rumblings (at Blade Show 2017 possibly?) about the possibility of a Native 5 in M4 coming down the road soon? It's been a long time since the last post in this thread, and I've been holding out waiting for such a beast before I buy my first one! I'm 61 now ,.... so I...

jpm2...what thickness did you use on that Micarta,...3/16" or 1/4"? Almost looks like 1/4" stock but then the photo is larger in scale.....

Re: Why i choose serrated

Though I can agree with the possibility of having a dull knife, this is an eye opener (at least for me). https://youtu.be/eZdwYT2reZk By the way,...anybody else notice in the video that this slasher is a freaking "Artiest"? Check out at the 5:00 minute mark and on out. That piece of pork ...

Re: Why i choose serrated

Before I get into this know that I absolutely love and prefer the look of a plain edge knife. With that being said I prefer to carry serrated. Why? It's pretty simple. If I were in a pinch and needed to save myself or someone which knife is going to cut through whatever needs to be cut quicker? Yes...

Re: Lots Of Wishing What The Para 3 Might Have Been, I Wish No More :-)

Besides looking like a baby "Stretch", I just came across one version of the Spyderco UKPK, and the blade shape there is quite similar to the blade changes I made on my Para 3. It was identified as a "Drop Point" blade,...and the other blade shape I saw on the UKPK was more of a ...

Re: Can anyone identify this small wharny in M4?

Yes,...and much thicker scales too which I really like. The only thing I'd do on that if I owned it is round off the scale edges more so that the hand feels a smooth transition and no corner shape. But that's a personal preference and what works for you is all that counts.

Re: Spyderco "Pairings": Picture Thread

I think this thread could be better IF the photos made mention of the Spyderco MODEL names so that some of us unfamiliar with the vast number offered over the years wouldn't be wanting to pull out hair out in frustration! PLEASE identify the VERY nice Wharny just below the Gayle Bradley2, as ...

Re: Spyderco "Pairings": Picture Thread

I'm admittedly a bit biased, but these two do a great job of handling pretty much any of my day-to-day tasks. IMG_1325.JPGTwo similar knives that are completely different. I wouldn't leave those 2 Spydies lay too long like that! The temptation is too great,....and well,...that's how baby Spydies st...

Re: Can anyone identify this small wharny in M4?

I think Spyderco might consider a Sprint Run using similar grip shape and black material then,....as this really does make it more appealing to my eyes at least. ....kinda funny too,...that I've got to search out an aftermarket scale maker before I will buy the knife! ;) I love G10 and Micarta, but ...

Can anyone identify this small wharny in M4?

I was drooling over the small wharny below the GB2 from a post in the photo pairing thread, but I'd never seen this model before so don't know the name and what to look for to pick one up ASP. It looks like a GB Air possibly, but the handle seems more rounded and thicker, and I've never seen one in ...

At the office today, but then I will be heading to the trails after work and having a little fun with The GB2 and the Izula. Call it overkill..
