Re: A Deeper Investigation into Spyderco Diamond vs cBN: Which is better?! Why!?

For as long as I can remember, there has been two options available for the Spyderco sharpmaker. Electroplated diamond or electroplated cBN. I've always felt it was a mystery and what I liked about Spyderco is that they offered both options for end line users to determine the differences However, i...

But especially for the Manix 2 (LW) it is about time imo.
This.

I think Spyderco missed the boat when they didn't give the Manix magnacut salt FS. Doh!

jumped into the deep end of 3D printing tks to OP, found a file that looks like an early version of OP scales.
printed a set of PLA+ scales using "fuzzy" surface texture in the slicer with following results :

Re: Centofante wharncliffe

Can we bring it back please? Even just a sprint run. My coworker blew a hole in mine cutting a zip tie. Are you talking a chip? I'm having a hard time envisioning this. But I'm sorry for your loss none he less. He electrically arced a notch out of the blade. I dont think I still have it or I would ...

Naw, I use em as-is. Nothing much I feel compelled to alter. I use, sharpen, use again,,,,

Though, if I could find a Ti Meadowlark, I'd snag it and swap the scales onto a Hawkbill.
Are the scales the same footprint?

pacific salt se iwb at all times.
I dont run, but if I did, this would be it. If I needed something lighter I would go with UKPK leaf blade. It is light as a feather. I currently only own the S110V version. I would love to own a magnacut full SE version. Even a H2 full SE would do.

Re: Hawbill doing what it does best

I use the corner of the stone and just lightly drag it across. Works well, but I do need to refine my technique. The knife is the bomb for $35! And if the Hawkbill blade doesn't appeal, the Meadowlark comes in a wicked SE Wharnie version. I think you need both! I do. https://i.imgur.com/FjwE7oO.jpg...

Re: Hawkbill doing what it does best

Since we don't get much traffic in the Byrd forum, I'm cross posting this. I love this Hawkbill. I use it in the garden center I work at. While I can't get it paper slicing sharp, it has to problems cutting off shoots, small 1/4" limbs, opening boxes, straps, etc. Touch up is simple with the b...
