Re: Dog tag decision?

4th gen looks very cool, but I think it's a shame to lose the chisel grind. I've got a Squarehead and love the grind on that.

Re: Para 2 as EDDC

Yeah I agree. Even a baton is a vastly better weapon for self defence than a knife, because it actually hurts and you can maintain distance better. I'm Australian, so all the better self defence options (guns, tasers, capsicum spray and batons) are considered prohibited weapons where I live. Even th...

I am sorry I brought M.J name into discussion but I couldn't possible realize who am I dealing with.I agree with Darby, it's a disgrace to trash someone just because you have different ideas.Twenty years or so I spent several years in prisons (during a psicho-social program not as a convict ) and s...

Re: Para 2 as EDDC

I'd like to come along and watch sometime is all. :) I certainly intend to get into no more knife fights in my life, I've had enough of that ****. Fighting with knives is always a lose-lose situation, even if you've got a massive skill & experience advantage over your opponent. Which is why I d...

Re: Para 2 as EDDC

@bearfacedkiller: Feel free to keep it to yourself, then. I was only pointing out that since we are talking about folders, reach increase is twice the blade length increase. @Bloke: Leichhardt, the first time; Bankstown, the second time. Why do you ask? edit: Sorry if I offended you by criticising t...

Re: Para 2 as EDDC

I think people incorrectly focus on blade length for self defense. I believe that the only real advantage a longer blade offers is more reach and 1/2 to 1 inch more reach is not a big difference in a face to face situation. Many meat cutting tests show that a knife will often cut twice as deep as t...

Re: Para 2 as EDDC

you can kill someone by using a knife, but you can't stop someone by using a knife. Sorry, this does not compute. And fencing has nothing to do with using a knife for SD. If you are armed with a knife it is much easier to inflict lethal injuries on someone than it is to stop them from attacking you...

Re: Para 2 as EDDC

If you're after a knife to defend yourself with, I'm not sure why you would choose the Paramilitary 2. I've used a knife to defend myself, and also used to be a competitive fencer. If you want a knife to use for violent purposes, I don't recommend that you do this, but if you insist then you should ...

Re: SpyderCard 2 Concept Idea

I thought the idea of the Spydercard was to actually fit into a wallet as a credit card would. Or, it would be really cool if that were possible. Wait, maybe I'm visualising this wrong. I thought it had a money clip on the other side, which would prevent it being that thin. If it's going into a wal...

Re: Sal - Is the Military 2 still happening?

I don't understand. Are your knives opening *prior* to hitting the ground? If I drop a knife and it opens, it only opens on impact - so it can't damage the edge or the tip on the initial drop, only on the bounce, and the bounce is like an inch or two maximum. I guess a knife could bounce further tha...

Aha, I see what you mean. Yeah, I guess it could be a problem. I don't really see this as a knife you're going to chuck in your pocket and sit on though, that's more a PM2 job.

Re: SpyderCard 2 Concept Idea

I'm not sure if linerless G10/CF would be rigid enough as thin as it would need to be Linerless CF is more rigid than just about anything. The story of CF: 1. People invent it, it's extremely rigid and light, but expensive. 2. People use it in high-performance applications because it's extremely ri...

Re: Sal - Is the Military 2 still happening?

Eh, I don't see it as a huge problem. If I drop the knife on the ground, I'm not going to pick it up blind - I'm going to look down first, right? So I can't accidentally cut myself in that situation.

Re: Sal - Is the Military 2 still happening?

Wouldn't you agree that any knife you can wrist flick open can open on impact. I dropped my Native 5 and had it partiallly open once; 90 deg. I would say that any folding knife can open on impact. I've got a ZT0452CF, and that knife has a very strong detent. It exclusively opens by flipper (no hole...

It seems as though flippers are almost all ti framelocks You're right, and it's the craziest thing. I've got three flipper ti framelocks from different makers: CKF Milk, ZT0452 and Lionsteel TRE. Whenever I let someone else use one, they have trouble opening it because the hand naturally covers the...

Why do you want high-chromium?

Do you like 20CV/204p/M390?

Do you like corrosion-proof nitrogen steels like H1 and LC200N?
